Strung weoght of your favorite classics

I recently did a little exercise and weighted all my favorite classics in their "combat uniform" (leather grip with overgrip, head tape, Nat gut string with a few exceptions as indicated). Here's what I got:

Anything below 12 oz feels ridiculously light, except maybe LM Radical Tour and I.Radical MP.

Donnay/Lacoste and Wilson are obvious heavyweights b/c of their solid braided graphite construction. Haven't seen any of them warp.

Head racquets are just from another planet. I love the aerodynamic design and playing characteristics of the thin-beam Prestiges but tubular (hollow) construction is arguably not the best. They warp over time.

What do your classics weigh?

Mine ranges from 350 - 366g (12.35 - 12.9oz).

Most of the '70s metal rackets I'm using lately are 13 1/4 - 13 3/4oz. I do have a 4 7/8" HEAVY Jack Kramer Auto on the way...I hope I can swing it! :)

...I have the txe-- how does the TXP compare? I initially was in awe of this 81sq/in stick; then leaded in different variations but went back to Wilson... BTW the Sting SC ceramic graphite is a nice frame too... interesting feel without the stabilizer bar

TXP plays similar to Prestige Pro although it's slightly lighter (12.1 oz vs 12.7 oz strung) and feels stiffer than PP. TXE is on it's own. It has exactly same weight as my TXPs but the head size is a bit too small for me. :)

i remember my friend used to own a very old wilson it was dark blue i believe don't know what the racket is called.

My POG I still use once in a while is 12.8

...never hit with the Prestige Pro... maybe I should take her out for a spin.... appreciate the comparison btw... i did have the Prestige Tour 600, Muster's stick from back in the day (that, as we know, some of the pros still sue today under paintjobs...) but i do prefer 16/18 or 16/19 string pattern... 18/20 is too tight for me; even the open string pattern on POG (14 / 18) doesn't jive esp on my 1HBH... cheers

Just got a 4 5/8 HEAVY Jack Kramer Autograph...bone stock, probably the original International Nylon strings. A mere 14 1/2 oz. Quite the bat!

Do you still play with woodies? I wish I could. I tried to play with a few of mine but they are too springy. Does anyone actually restring them?

I've restrung a Kramer Mid and Chris Evert Autograph for my personal use recently. A nice thin multi can make a real difference in how the wood rackets perform. OTOH, many of the metal rackets from the same period hit fairly well even with 30-35 year-old string!
