Low cut is generally preferred unless you like the added support and weight of a mid.Not all lows or mids are created equal.

I like mids, but if I can only get a shoe in low(i.e. Reebok 360 DMX), I would wear them with an ankle brace.

Can't stand the mids. Bought only a few in my career. Didn't like them in basketball, no reason to get them in tennis.

I've worn a couple of mids in the past and they never prevented my ankles from rolling over. They only gave me the perception that they provide more stability. Ankle braces definitely prevent me from spraining my ankles. I'm starting to see a lot of juniors wear these more because of Andy Roddick. They (the braces) make their legs look bigger and are now a fashion item.

Mids. . . Nike Resolve has more support than most, and they're great if you have a wide foot. I am on my second season with my first pair.

Lows. I can't stand how mids cut into my ankle, very uncomfortable, and annoying.

NB CT1000's are LOOOOWWW, but provide great support... I'm tempted to get a pair of Resolves but they wear out out quickly. I'll just stick with the NB for now, I love those things :D

I can't stand mids. This isn't basketball.
