wow. sorry I haven't posted. Been busy stringing at a National Tourney. Anyway, as for your question, I've never weighed the entire reel. I would do it for you, but right now, the only reel I have is not complete. When I order a new reel, I'll weigh it for you.

why not weigh 40 ft and muliply by 16.5?

you have to include the plastic spindle it comes in!! lol.

My used reel of 407 feet weighs 16oz., and my "new" reel weighs 12.89oz.
I delt with a very honest seller who assured me he will make it right if it comes up short though

I didn't subtract out the weight of the zip tie or the plastic packaging for the 40 ft set when I weighed it .... I'm hedging my bet that the spool weighs as much as 16 zip ties and plastic packaging... :P
