Luxilon, Babolat, etc, all cost to much I want to spend under 60 on a 200m set. I have been using Pro's Pro red devil, it doesn't hold tension very well and feel dead, I was wondering if there are any budget polys that are good for feel and spin.

Since you are in the UK check out Mantis strings. I am using the comfort poly now and like it a lot. It is in your price range.

Big Ace is another reasonably priced poly.

Big Ace is another reasonably priced poly.

+1 Big Ace - Good feel and durability.

Also, Blue Gear is also budget priced if you like a textured spin string.

I have thought this for years!!! It's bad on most forums. This one actually isn't as bad as some forums i've been on. I used to be very into modding Spyder paintball markers. Man you should have seen how many posts there were all about speaking in absolutes. "best, worst, greatest, etc." Generally it's the younger crowd that's guilty <20.

Sorry to detract from the point of the thread. Please continue posting and contributing helpful feedback.

One the best polys out there for feel and decent power...for about 2 hours. Then it dies completely and has no pop at all.

Whats wrong with saying the word best?

subjectivity (there are a slew of "best" this or "worst" that threads, which just offer up everyone's opinion, with little objective discussion)

I think the readers on here are smart enough to understand when someone ask "what is the best poly etc.", they are asking for individuals opinions and not hard facts.
For example, I think the best synthetic for the money is OG micro and that should not stress anyone out too much and it might even help someone make a decision on which string to buy.
Bottom line, no one is making you open the thread that has the dreaded word "best" is the title.

Best performance for the dollar is Premier Ace, but it has poor power on the serve due to high stiffness and low dynamic elasticity... it's $45 for a reel.

You can get cheaper polys, but most of them are crap.

OTOH, Gosen Polyon is $30 per reel, but I haven't tried it.

I also agree. It's more the "worst" this or that threads that are useless.

So to add constructive thoughts, big ace micro is pretty hard to beat in terms of price/performance string

I had a set of Mantis strings in a Blackburne racquet that i bought. They had been sitting in that racquet for a long time and still felt great.

Where did you get them from?

Maybe because it's very subjective and one sided :)

Anyone got an opinion on Signum Pro Poly Plasma?

It's a good string. More expensive than CF, Big Hitter, or Premier Ace though.

For the money, longevity, playability nothing is going to beat Silver String. For the latter two yes. A reel of silverstring is $50 more than Big Ace. I have reels of both and while I prefer the former, the latter is the better value.

Anyone got an opinion on Signum Pro Poly Plasma?Of all poly strings on the market, SPPP has the best tension maintenance. Look elsewhere for loads of spin and power, however.

Gosen Polylon 17 is only $3 on TW.

It's really stiff though, so you need to do a hybrid with it.

I have always believed in taking the "middle path"...and my favorite middle path string company is Weiss Cannon. You won't find many better strings at decent prices than Silverstring, Scorpion, and Matchpower, which is their budget offering.

Looking at the posts, the trend seems to be, WC SS, WC Sc, Topspin Cyberflash, Gosen OG micro, Pro Supex Big Ace, SPPP, and Unique Big hitter, I am going to make a poll on another thread, with these strings to get a clearer result of what people think in their 'opinion' is the best Budget Poly, BTW im really conidering feel, ten stab, and control.

OG Micro is a synthetic gut. Gosen's cheap poly is Polyon.

One thing I really liked about cyberflash was the 720ft reel (and smart considering the rsi stiffness of the 17g CF right next to alu power)

I think the mantis and genesis type companies could take a leaf out topspins book and offer the larger reels at least for their flagship strings.

Yes, my vote also goes to Polystar, they have some great strings and are cheap for the quality.
I recently have tried many strings, Toalson, Pacific, Isospeed, Luxilon and Polystar. Polystar Strike was my favorite and also one of the cheapest options.

Email them directly and tell them you want to try their strings, you can buy 1 set of each before buying a reel.

Nope. I've heard others say that as well. I love it. It does have a unique soft, almost mushy feel though and is very control oriented. Some people don't like that, which is understandable. For those that do like it though, it's a great string.

Lots of people love Proline2, where I f'n hate that crap. Tastes differ so severely... and it amuses me constantly. :)

I use an N Tour 90, any recommendations, at the moment I use Pro's Pro red devil which does dead quick and has little feel.
