For those of you who have poly mains and synthetic crosses, what cross string do you use?

I tried my Pure Drive Cortex racquets for the first time yesterday (see my thoughts on Racquet board). One has TurboTwist mains and the other Tornado mains.

I used Yonex Tour Super 850 16g crosses for both because that's my typical cross string. Unfortunately it made the racquet feel a bit too soft which meant I really couldn't feel the ball on the strings as well as I would have liked. (I know some of it is the cortex/woofer/blah at work)

Next stringing I think I'm going to try a bit crisper feeling cross than the Yonex. I'm just interested in hearing what you use.

Thanks.

Prince Premier LT 1.30
Technifibre X-1 Biphase 1.30
Babolat Xcel 1.25

With a thin poly - typically 1.20 in the mains. Don't ask me why but I prefer the feel of a thicker multi cross with a thin poly main.

Have tried loads of other multis, but those 3 are the ones I keep on going back to.

i used for quite a while the wilson sensation 1.25 as crosses string in my 106 blades and have recently switched to isospeed professional 1.20. mains have been kirschbaum competition 1.20 and recently i started "a love affair" with luxilon adrenaline 1.20. i strring at 23kg mains and 22kg crosses.
i am currently testing mantis power synthetic 1.22 and mantis comfort synthetic 1.30 as cross strings and the preliminary results are quite satisfying. when i'm going to be through i might issue a test report on the board.

PSGD is fairly crisp but your poly may shred it after a few matches. Gosen is the stiffest I have played with but have not tried it in a hybrid.

same here, I play hex 1.10/mains and reaction 16g/cross, it feels way better than thin multis, they are just too flexible somehow..

Gamma Professional 18g is my favorite followed closely by Weiss Cannon Explosiv! which only comes in 16g but I wish it came thinner.

I'm currently using Technifibre Pro Red Code 1.25 / Multifeel 16 55/58. This is my fourth time using Multifeel as the cross. In my 95" racquets, it seems to need more than 58 lbs. tension in order to stay straight and match well with the stiffness of the poly. The Multifeel is very notched, but it's not breaking. I think this is due to the central core in the string. And I think the presence of notching on the crosses is due to my flat hitting.

I'm going to try Gosen Sheep Super 1.25 next, with Cyber Flash 1.20 mains 56/59. Super is as soft as the Multifeel, but it is a syn gut where Multifeel is a PU multi. I'm hoping the Super will feel more solid, but match softly enough with the stiff Cyber Flash.

After that Cyclone / ________. Revelation, Gut 2000, or OGSM?

I've used Forten Nylon, PSGD, and OG Sheep Micro as the cross and i like the Sheep Micro the best. I havn't used the PSGD in the cross recently but the micro added more control to the setup of BB Explosiv in the mains instead of the forten in the cross.

x-one seems like an ideal cross string to me....

Have used Multi Feel, X-one, Gosen, Prince Premier Softex, NRG2,Klip Venom,Yonex super 850. Forten Sweet, as well as Natural Gut.
For now i seem to have gravitated to NRG2 to soften up the string bed and provide plenty of power. Natural Gut is a more expensive option of course, but i only use this in the mains, as NRG2 works just as well as NG in the crosses.

Addiction...

Tried this string on a racquet with Black Code mains and the BC mains sawed through the Addiction in about 5 sets...strange.

Thanks for everyone's input so far...I greatly appreciate it!

BTW: I got some OG Sheep Micro Jim Courier in the closet I'm thinking of trying. I noticed they don't offer it any more. Is another Gosen string identical (maybe the Super 16L...I think it's about the same price as the JC used to be) to the Jim Courier or did they just get rid of the JC all together?

X-One Biphase 17g
Yonex Tour Super 850 (ATG850)

I switch between the two with Alu Power Spin on the mains.
