It's ridiculous that the French Open does not have lights. They are trying to stop the Monfils match right now. The crowd hates it and is livid, the players want to keep playing and it sucks for the TV audience as well. RG not having lights has to be one of the most pathetic things in our sport. Besides that, night matches tend to be more exciting and memorable, with more crowd involvement, which they are missing out on as well.

Well day and night matches would play really differently on clay, specially due to humidity and temperature. It is less of a factor on hard court.

Seriously... lights for night matches is the least they could do.

Zee French Have No Need For Zee Lights. Lights Are For Zee Uncultured Us Open. Zee Play Over Deux Days Is For Zee True Artiste!

Ho Ho Ho! Zut Alors!

I think they have night matches at other clay events. They also have indoor clay events. There is no good reason for the FO to not have lights.

It would be nice if they had them just for these circumstances -- when a match runs into diminishing light.

They wouldn't even have to use them for actual night sessions, as they do at the Australian and US Opens.
