thought it might be interesting to see. Maybe a video of someone hitting a ball showing the racquet flexing and bending on contact?

In my service video, if you pause it at the right moment, you can see my racket bending back pretty far on contact. Or at least it looks like it.

Mr. Fed turned this Ncode 90 to a wet noodle.

Tennisplayer . net is starting to put up 500 frame per second videos. They have one posted to their forum of Federer hitting a second serve, a fairly close-up of contact, from the chest up. You can clearly see the racquet tip bend backwards at contact and then oscillate back and forth as the bending wave travels up and down the frame.

There are many ultra high-speed vids of this.

Why not try capturing tennis motions with one of the Casio's digital cam that can take 1000 FPS vid? I don't remember the model. I've seen some movies by this thing, like birds' wings in slow-mo and it's really awesome.

I saw a forehand slow motion shot, I think it was this past Wimbledon. Where half the ball was flatten sinking into the strings, and the frame distorting on contact. Very cool shot in HD.

About 38 years ago, there was a picture of Stan Smith serving with his signature Wilson wood (virtually identical to a Kramer), on the cover of "World Tennis" magazine. The pic showed his racquet head with a HUGE flex on it just at ball contact.
