this thread might be good for warranty shoe claim references and might have some ideas that the warranty will be granted or not.

post your shoes before shoe warranty claim and let us know whether you got replacement shoes or not.

I've claimed several shoes and I got all replacement shoes.
I think if you can make a hole, 99%.... companies will give a replacement shoes.

my first shoe warranty claim.
Prince OC-1 (wore about 9 weeks -I think I put 130 hrs).
Prince sent the replacement shoes within 7 days (Fastest company)

Barricade V
I think I wore about 8 weeks and put over 140hrs.
it took 2-3 weeks to receive a replacement shoes from adidas
I think the warranty was granted because of a hole in toe area.

My warranty was granted and it took about two weeks to get the voucher. I used two vouchers today and ordered one neon CB 2.3, CB 1.3 and breathe cage II.

Many people ask about conditions of their shoes whether it will be qualified for the warranty or not.
I think this thread should be at sticky.

hope people continue to post pics and follow up their status of the warranty so we will not have same threads over and over again.

I used to claim my CB 1.3 when I get a hole at toe area but this time my heel area rubber is gone (only played 9 weeks). I did not know whether I should claim or not but if your warranty was granted, I might send my shoes for the warranty.
thanks for the info.

I don't think you can claim the warranty if you buy it from nordstrom rack ( I don't think nordstrom rack count as authorized dealer but regular nordstrom Store does) but I've never tried before though. I usually buy sales shoes from Nike website or local stores ( usually pay below $60 ranges). I always got $120 vouchers.

also where can you get the warranty card?
I think nike requires the warranty card. not like Adidas.
hopefully customer service representative knows well about the warranty.
if someone ask something which they do not know well, their usual answer is "NO". ^__^

My thoughts exactly about them not knowing! Its much easier for them to say no than to actually look into it. I have plenty of other warranty cards from other cb2.3s I've bought. They're all the same

I created this thread because so many people asks about their warranty and many different answers from all members. Also most people does not follow up after their warranty claim so we only speculate whether their warranty might be good enough or not.

I guess I don't understand. You use the **** outta the shoes and then send them back because you used them so much they wore through? How is that a manufacturing defect?

sounds like you never had shoes which come with 6 month outsole warranty.
not every shoes has 6 month outsole warranty. Barricade and courtballistec 1.3 and 2.3 are most popular shoes which come with 6 month outsole warranty.

the 6 month outsole warranty is not for the manufacturing defect.

I guess I don't understand. You use the **** outta the shoes and then send them back because you used them so much they wore through? How is that a manufacturing defect?

it's not a defect. it's a warranty because the company guarantees 6 months on certain shoes' outsoles. so if you wear through that outsole within the time frame they will send you a new pair.

the companies must have done enough research to make a profit on these kind of warranties by increasing the price of the shoe knowing that the majority of players will not be able to wear through the outsole. this calculation must have included the avg. hour played per week/month for the avg. player and calculated the avg. wear on the outsole for this given time. players that are able to claim this warranty therefore must either harder (more running/stopping movements per calculated time) on their shoes than the avg. player, or they must play more than the avg. time calculated.

it too me ~70 hrs of play to wear through my shoes enough for warranty. I accomplished this is about 3-4 months. for some people they will not be able to play 70 hrs in that time period (it was summer for me so i had plenty of free time). Instead they play 70 hrs in 8 months and won't be able to qualify for warranty. given this calculation this person plays tennis for about 2 hrs a week. To get it down to 6 months a person would have to play a little less than 3 hrs a week. so for weekend warriors and people with jobs, play time is limited to the weekends usually. and if it rains on that weekend they probably won't make the warranty time.

kimguroo
10-02-2010, 01:46 PM
Wow. Only use 70 hours? You might have crazy foot works ^_^
I have good foot works. Try to reach balls everytime....
I usually put 120-150 Hours then claim warranties. Usually take 3 months.

Maybe you did not read all of it ^_^. It exactly state that the warranty claim needs the original warranty card.

I have read it. It's a common misperception that it's actually needed. I've returned Nike tennis shoes numerous times w/o the warranty card and yet to have a single claim denied. Alot of the times, the shoes at the Factory stores don't have the claim cards in the boxes.

does nike offer anything similar for customers from uk? or do any of the online retailers (uk based) offer anything? i havent seen any that do, but was just wondering if anyone else had? it only seems a tad strange that they would have a warranty for shoes in one country and not another. only other place ive bought nike shoes from is dubai, and they didnt seem to have any warranty. is there something that comes with the shoes?

huh, interesting. Yeah I've never heard of shoes with that kind of warranty. Seems like they'd run into people who, after 5.5 months, throw the thing on a belt sander and then collect a new pair. Is it just once or do they keep replacing them every 6 months? Free shoes for life!

You did not buy the delivery confirmation or insurance? You are supposed to buy those service from USPS or send it through UPS or fedex.
BTW Adidas will
Not contact you whether they got your shoes or not. Just patiently wait 2-6 weeks. If they grant your warranty, the replacement shoe will be at your door.

TW lets you send the shoes back to them, and they handle the warranty stuff. Typically it's a faster turnaround than dealing with the company. Other retailers, like MidWSports, tell you to send them directly to adidas or Nike.

Having said that, I posted my White and Blue (Murray) Barricades in here and shipped them out on the 2nd. Since that colorway is discontinued, I put a little note in there asking politely for the Black&White ones (I have a pair of solid Black). Got them today, the 22nd. That seemed relatively quick.

Ever wanted to know what a "Toe Dragger" is when you read shoe descriptions, here's what it looks like. This is 1000x better than the tip material on Barricades, which is why I switched to the Babs.

Barricade does not have a good protection in toe area.
I think CB 1.3 and 2.3 are one of the best to protect toe areas.

Good luck with babolat warranty ^_^ and let us know.

I've never sent warranty cards and all of my shoes warranties are granted.

I returned a pair of 804s under warranty claim. They were pretty well worn under the inner ball of the foot area. If yours are close just play a few more times and they will wear quickly once the surface is broken through. I only had them about 4 months so well within typical 6 month time frame. I assume you are aware though that New Balance does not specify a time period so its a bit fuzzy with them how long you have to submit a claim.

I was able to exchange them at the retailer however and they handled it from there so no direct experience with New Balance. I got conflicting instructions from the retailer however...seems it depended on who I talked to whether they would handle it or whether I needed to. In the end they gave me the replacement pair on the spot.

If only they gave warranties for things other than sole wear. I walk/run very heavily on my heels and end up "breaking" the heels (for lack of a better word). Used to wear Wilson Tour Spins and within two weeks of playing my shoes would squeak when I stepped on the heels. Annoyed me so much I had to replace them a short while after.

As well could you take a full picture of your CB before you send it to have more of a example?

honestly, what have you done with your shoes?
I've never heard someone drags heel:confused:
how can someone drag heel, when they play tennis.
if someone slides at courts, usually front part shoes should contact first.....
did you practice moonwalk dance with the shoes? ^___^
I usually finish heel areas first but never drag my heel area, just natural activity caused the problem.
look at my shoes. rubber part is gradually worn.
In your picture, it looks like something just bite your heel part.
other than heel parts, the shoe looks like have more than 3 months of life.

I am not the warranty inspector so I can't give you the exact answer but If I am the inspector, I might reject the warranty because of unusual wear on the shoes so I might conclude your warranty with mis-used or abused. In my opinion, you have 40% chance.

Quick, did you shoot your shoes with a rifle? :-P

my hitting partner always make holes at exact spots ^_^

I assume you already worn out your outsole (most of those kind of people have good foot works so they have holes at side of shoes as well as outsole).
if outsole does not wear much, it might not qualify the warranty because shoes companies offer 6 month outsole warranty. not entire shoes.
since side of shoes are not outsole so if the inspector might reject the warranty.

Where do I ship them to, to see if they qualify?

yeah do you have to buy from a store with the 6 month guarantee for it to be valid?

I don't think you can claim the warranty if you buy it from nordstrom rack ( I don't think nordstrom rack count as authorized dealer but regular nordstrom Store does) but I've never tried before though. I usually buy sales shoes from Nike website or local stores ( usually pay below $60 ranges). I always got $120 vouchers.

if you buy from nike.com, will they honor a 6 month guarantee?

Wanted to pick up a pair of Barricades 5.0 from Dick Sporting Goods ... but im not sure if they are the Junior version or the Men's version. They are size 7s and were placed in the youth section ... Does Adidas have an outsole warranty for their Junior lines? Are size 7's consider mens or juniors? There were no warranty card in the boxes but has a read in the other posts, Adidas doesn't require a warranty card right? If size 7s are indeed youth size, will there still be a outsole guarantee????

Yeah, I had no problem wearing down the CB 2.3's and BV's and the Propulse II's were a joke, but man... the B6 is insane... It's probably because I haven't been playing 6 hours a week like I did when I had those other shoes. My High School's courts got torn out April Last year and they are just now finishing them. Gotta love the public school system! Anyways I wore the B6's for a tournament today and I think I broke through to something... Oh wow, I just realized something! If I bought my B6's on January 22nd, That means the 6 month mark will be July 22nd, not June 22nd like I thought it was for some reason haha, so really that's only 4 months of wear posted above, I still got 2 more months where I will be playing more.

I think adidas just sends you a new pair of the same shoe no matter what you paid for them....

When you say that you were hesitant about sending in the 6's what do you mean? Did you not think you were going to get a replacement because the wear wasn't enough?

Yep, they lasted well...and I ripped through the Propulses and Gr2s withing a couple of months. I almost made it the whole 6 months with the B6

You should, although it's strange how you rubbed out the heel part but not the front. Adidas may think this was not due to tennis (like you purposefully dragging your heels when you walk), so you have a slight chance of them not being accepted.

it's very common pattern of wear (heel).
in my opinion, Adidas will grant your warranty claim.

I think they send it to you in the same size you bought it, though it might be a different color.

I always write a note to Adidias on the shoe box inside regarding what I want. I asked for a larger size and different color last time and they gave me what I wanted.

I wear out my shoes in 2/3 months but never thought about to use the warranty to get a new pair.
So how does this work?
Can you get Adidas/ Nike/ Babolat etc replacing your old worn down shoes through the warranty no matter how old they are and model?
thanks
Btw just bought a new pair of shoes this week:evil:

Darn it!! Wish I took pictures of my last 2 pairs of Babolat Team All Court 4 shoes. The left shoe had a huge gaping hole in the top near my toes and on the side on both pairs. And the right shoe had a huge hole on the bottom near my big toe. Never had problems with the heels of my shoes.

Going to play with the shoes for a bit longer, but really disappointed in the durability. Shoes only lasted me 3 months where the cb2.3 i had before actually lasted me almost 6 months. I really did enjoy the shoes while they lasted though.
