I like TW's house brand quite a bit. It's frighteningly inexpensive as well.

Very true. This one place in TO sells Wilson pro feel for 6$
That's ONE dampener

there is no "best" dampener, it's all about what feels right to you.

forgot mine the other day after restringing, no worries. didn't even
think about it once game was on.

My favorite dampeners are the Head logo dampener and the tried and true #64 rubber band. They both take away a good amount of vibration without sacrificing feel. The rubber band route is a good way to go because you can get a big bag of them for just a couple of bucks at Staples.

http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Babolat_Custom_Damp_YellowBlack/descpageBAB-BCDYB.html with the plastic insert, pal gave me one he uses it and wow ! who would have thought ! somehow that "insert" to me really gives the solid loud sound when I hit the ball and that breeds confidence on every shot, the one thing a dampner does. just Great ! my fav. before was the old donnay sponge, but the ones I had fell apart a yr. ago.

Those black Head dampeners were pretty awesome! They stayed on the racquet, and left a really nice feel. Very cheap too.

Also love the Gamma Red Eye. It looked pretty cool, stays on, and beautiful feel! The only problem is that if you hit the dampener a couple times, the oil and bearing may fall out. But that's not much to worry about.

Rubberband. Dampens some but not too much like many of the others do.

Best thing about it, it doesn't fly off and you go all over the court looking for a dampener.

I like the kind that say "My Serve" on one side and "Your Serve" on the other. I haven't been able to find them in a while, but it makes the spin before a match easy to decipher.

I rarely can feel a difference in dampeners. As long as they don't pop out a lot, I'll use them. The only ones I have used that do that are the Babolat donut-shaped ones when you take out the plastic insert.

I prefer the Yin-Yang or the Red HEAD dampener in my Radicals, but there really isn't a best choice. It's all about personal preference...

I've found that the Wilson W damps are astoundingly ineffective. The one that came with my Gamma Ipex on the other hand, is astoundingly effective. It's just a little piece of plastic/rubber, weighs less than the wilson, feels cheaper, yet is extremely effective at dampening.

Ya I think dampeners do make the swing feel a bit heavier. I notice the added plow from the weight of a dampened :p Thats why I prefer rubber bands cuz they are much less massive than normal dampeners cuz my racket already is weighted like a club

1/4" Rubber Band. Effective, light and adjustable. I haven't used many "purpose-built" dampeners. My Volkl racquet included one, but it pushed apart the mains a bit and added a few grams of weight. Not a huge deal, but not ideal. I also liked the way the rubber bands made my string beds feel better so that is what I use exclusively. The post office usually wraps our mail in a #64 rubber band so, I have a free supply of them for the time being. Now if they would start using RPM Blast, I would be a really happy camper.

^ What you said.

Does anyone feel that the Head Logo Damps are one of the worst ones out there?

Yep super comfortable. It made my strokes sound like I was putting alot more force into it than I actually was.

I'd like to get some feedback (no pun intended) about the gamma shockbuster II. The reviews on TW claim some near miraculous results. Hot air or reality?

1. Tecnifibre Vibra Clip - small and stays on the strings
2. Babolat Custom Damp with the middle insert
3. Rubber bands - just look like crap and feels weird with the bunny ears left on

Babolat Custom Damps w/o the middle piece is what I like.

girlfriend uses the gamma shockbuster II, she loves them but they break after a while. If you want damp, they do the job quite well. I personally hate dampeners and do not use them.

What are the differences between the Wilson Pro Feel and the Wilson Pro Feel Plus?
