I've 'inherited' a lightly used Fischer racquet, 98 sq in, ceramic construction, mid 90's vintage maybe?
Any info available on this racquet?

this was available until about 1995. 11.8 oz strung,8 points HL, 16 x 20, 22mm constant beam, vacuum technic construction with ceramic fiber (SiC). Nice, damp, stable all-court frame for strong player w/grooved strokes. Predecessor to the Vacuum Pro 98 I believe.

Can you provide a picture?

I believe 007 nailed it. The inside throat confirms '100% SiC-ceramics graphite', balance of '304 +-6 mm' and weight of '320 +-7 grams' both unstrung. Recommended string tension is 52 to 65 lbs. The racquet was last strung in 1995 at 57 lbs with Alpha Gut 2000(16?)
Other throat info - 'Elliptic Comp'
- 'Tournament Frame System Mid Plus 98'
Colour - Dk Gray with blue and copper shading(Sorry no picture)
Questions - what does plus minus refer to in balance and weight?
The string appears to be in perfect condition, but 10 years old. Need I replace immediately? What would be a suitable string?

Used it last night (with the 95 string!)- very stable, useful at the net, control oriented vs power. I liked it.

Thanks all

the +/- refers to the tolerances in weight and balance point Fischer allows for production frames of this model (spec variances between production run frames)

Alpha Gut 2000 is a nice playing string....but restring.
Also consider TF TRC, Babolat Powergy, Sensation, Klip Scorcher

You've got a great frame there that puts most current player's stick to shame in the feel dept.
