It happens. Wait until you start doing it more and you realise how much money decent strings and stringing cost.

Congrats. Do you want a cookie for your accomplishment?

I know exactly what you mean. I played for 1-2 years and never broke a string and then all of a sudden I started breaking them more often. Before it was exciting, now it's annoying!

Hey, I was really excited when I started breaking strings too!

Congrats. Do you want a cookie for your accomplishment?Hey man, come on, you know how excited you were the first time you were hitting hard enough to break your strings!

BTW, when you break a string it's a good idea to cut out your string bed. Leaving the string bed intact with a broken string puts unbalanced tension on the hoop and doing so for long periods is not good for your racquet. See the book "Serious Tennis" for more on this

Now that I have a stringing machine, I rarely break the strings before I cut them out. I usually play a maximum of one set with a stick before I switch to another. Since I have 3 with another on the way, this works out quite well.

It's ironic how you felt like a pro when in reality the pros often do not break their strings before the racquets themselves get a restringing.
