View Full Version : Recommended Strings for Dunlop Aerogel 4D 200

My current strings feel really blocky. I get some nice flat shots but it's bad for my wrist. I just came off a Becker 11 mid with Babolat Xcel strings and whatever I have doesn't have enough spin production and that nice pop feeling. Any recommendations?

Oh and I'm looking for a rather durable string since I wont be able to restring for about 3 months at a time but I'll probably put in at least 5 hours a week.

I have a Dunlop 4D 200. I have tried and recommend the following strings:
Klip legend 17 natural gut. I strung AG4200 at #58 (full bed).
Had nice pop, control, feel, a bit too much power for my game. I would string higher next time. I'd try a hybrid of gut/poly next time, probably Luxilon BB Ace or Alu Power Rough.
Luxilon BB Ace 18. I strung AG4200 at #53 (full bed). It's a wonderful string, great pop, feel control. Not quite enough power in a full bed. I'd like to hybrid this string with either gut or soft multi.
Volkl Cyclone 18. Strung AG4200 at #50 (full bed). Another great string, with pop, feel, control. I like cyclone 18 more than 17, I have that strung on a PB 10 mid.

I might also add the above strings are surprisingly durable. Klip legend gut lasted almost 6 months for me (pretty amazing) even in hard hitting, although it frayed a bit after a few hours and kept fraying, they never broke.
The BB Ace and Volkl poly were also 18 guage, didn't break, no matter how hard I hit with them. But I'm not known as a string breaker.

Ashaway Dynamite WB 16 strung at 49 lbs, for durability.
Dynamite 17 strung at 51 lbs for spin.
