Is it safe to say you will get more playability from multi mains and more durability from poly mains?

Poly mains=more bite, crisp, better spin, durability and control.

Multi mains=better feel, touch and power. And bit more difficult to string up.

Poly mains: Stiffer, more durable

Multi mains: Softer, less durable

Then the next question becomes, what are you trying to achieve by using a hybrid setup rather than a single string?

yeah i think the feel and durability aspect are the 2 key points when i compare these two set-ups.
