I try to do the snakey weave and half a few problems. I can do it fine when stringing synthetics or multis, but i cant seem to do it well with polys. My fingers get sweaty most of the time and the string ends up slipping. I'll try to record a video when I string my next racquet, but for the time being, does anyone have any tips for me?

Thanks

Poly is hard for everyone. Make sure you weave one string ahead when stringing crosses and try these videos:

as Irvin advised, weave one ahead.

also, pull enough string thru the grommet to reach the other side of the frame before beginning to weave.

Good luck.

That's ingenious! I'm gonna have to try that...

I already know about these things. Great videos Irvin. Are there any other tips or anything that would help from the strings slipping?

You might give pull weaving a try instead of pushing the string.

i have the same problem with pull weaving. could i somehow make my fingers stickier to prevent the string from slipping?

^^^once you string long enough, your fingers will become adjusted, and even build some calluses, which will help.

Good luck!

I (as Irvin suggested) pull pretty much all weaves when stringing poly's - I normally alternate push and pull. For me it works better with poly's than push weaving, but it's probably entirely personal preference. Also, as Drak said, pull through enough string to complete the weave before you start as this will help reduce the friction.

is pulling the opposite of push weaving? like pulling it towards your body?

^not necessarily since I'm not good at it. Once I get better, I will be able to better answer that question.
