View Full Version : Having a private coach is awsome

I offered myself 10 hours of private classes with a coach. (I've done 3.5 hours of the 10). It's unbelivable how fast you can improve with a coach. He can see all the things you aren't doing properly and it helps a lot. He corrected my forehand and backhand plus changed a few things on my serve to get more power.

One error I was doing on my forehand was when I wanted to hit the ball hard with lot of topspin I was rotating my body a lot (too much, it was hard to get the good timing) + while I was rotating my body my arm stayed fixed resulting in lot of topspin but no pace.... I wasn't doing it all the time, but often enough to make lots of errors....

anyway, can'T wait to have another class, maybe I'll take an extra 5-10 hours too....

I'm glad, you know, I think I might do the same since I don't have any hitting partners.

thats great, i'm going to go use the wall because I'm poor as hell and I don't have decent courts to hit on.

One thing you should do is work on one thing for a long time because even if you work one ten different things that help you alot, after when you go to play you will forget a lot of them.

A good personal coach is the best way to improve in tennis. If you cant afford one then try to video yourself and try to get some free analysis from all of the more helpful posters on these boards. Without being told what your are doing incorrect or seeing your bad form, you will not be able to improve your problems by hitting at the wall.

Tennis lessons are certainly very valuable. While they aren't essential, they help you improve much more quickly.
