View Full Version : how to hit a backhand when the ball is high

when i played earlier, my coach was hitting balls to my backhand,. they were high and i would hit them out. my coach said keep my head down and use my left hand. i did that, it wouldnt work. then i tried hitting on the rise, but it would most likely go to the net. i dont know what to do. pleas reply :confused:

have you tried practice?
How about bending you knees more for on the rise shots....

There are only three options:
1. Retreat and try to play with more topspin.
2. Move your feet to the ball and take it on the rise.
3. Pull a Rios / Safin and JUMP.

4. Slice the ball back.
Learn how to slice. It will be your new friend. You can slice high balls. You can slice low balls.

I like the safin's jump backhand. I'm trying to do that myself, but it's kinda difficult at the moment
