View Full Version : Grommets for c-10

I have a c-10 pro 98" and was wondering if the grommets from the tour 10 mp would fit. TW advised against this but I thought that I read somewhere on an earlier thread that some of you have replaced the c-10 with the tour 10 mp grommet with success.

I was under the impression they were both made from the same mold, therefore the grommets sould be interchangeable. So if you have a set of Tour 10 MP grommets, I would go ahead and try it. But if you do need the C-10 grommets you should be able to get them from TW...I bought two sets of them from TW a few months ago.

think they are interchangeable....rabbit knows....hey rabbit? ed

good call, Ed. They are indeed interchangeable. The Tour 10 MP grommets also correct a deficiency in the C10, the bumper guard. Plus, if you care to hide lead tape under them, they do that too. They also add a little weight to the head. I've replaced a couple of mine with Tour 10 Grommets.
They are indeed for sale here at TW.

hey rabbit...i have started to cut the grommet materal away from my t10mp's looking to make them more headlight and losing a little weight in general. would you say the c10 grommets are thinner and lighter than the tour10mp ones? if so, i could just repace the tour10mp grommets w. the c10 ones and lose the weight a little neater than hand cutting them? yes? ed

I'll put one on and see what a difference that will make prior to replacing the grommets on the second c-10. BTW, you guys deserve credit for clueing me in on the c-10s. Very nice racquets indeed. :D

ed - correctomundo. The C10 grommets are barely there. That's a great idea. Just be advised that you're not going to have the wrap around grommet. The C10 grommet nestles inside the frame and exposes it. That's probably not a bad thing for old guys like us since you really have to bend you knees to scrape up the side of the frame.

rabbit my game is odd..i have almost never scraped my bat on the court even when younger and now i play only on the dirt so no damage there...thanks for the confirmation..you are saying i will definitely loose some weight in my t10mp's by doing this right? ed

The C10 grommet is definetly smaller and (I would surmise) lighter than the Tour 10 MP's grommet. The C10 grommet really just fits over the string holes in the frame and does not cover any of the frame past the 11 & 1 o'clock positions. What is up there doesn't cover as well as the Tour 10's.
I would also recommend ordering a leather grip and that would shift the balance point some too.

yep...thanks for your help rabbit..i already use the leather and have ordered the c10 grommets. i think i've got this covered. if you;re ever down in my hood, look me up. ed

rabbit,..these c10mp grommets just wont fit in my t10mp's. that was surprising to me..the side pieces went in fine, but the wider top piece isnt even really that close to fitting. guess they are only somehow interchangeable one way..ed

Ed - my bad.....I really thought they'd fit. I'd be happy to buy them from you.....shoot me an e-mail if you want.
