Team seems used more in hybrids::Touch, in full beds.

If someone paid you to use Nat Gut and you were free to choose which one, would you then do full bed touch or team and hybriod it?

I've never used Team much less in a hybrid setup, so I have no basis for meaningful comparison, but at the moment I'm liking a full bed of Touch.
What I'd like to know is, if I hybrid a stiff durable co-poly like Red Code in the crosses, and put x1 biphase in the mains at higher tension, how this would play.

Not sure how this hybrid would play but you do recommend full bed of touch.. since you brought up x1, have you tried full bed of that.. if so any feedback / comments... is it possible to compare it to full bed of gut or are they too different.. and do they differ in how long of play then offer between stringings because i know multis usualy dont give more that 4-7 hours of descent play.. well at least excel power didnt

X1 is one of the top multis and for me, both VS and X1 last about the same time. The main difference is natural gut is very consistent in tension throughout the life of the string whereas X1 starts to lose tension and becomes harder to keep the ball in play.

so with the gut how do you know when its time to be replaced?

Easy question - VS Team 17 is superior in quality to VS Touch - but probably not by much though :)

VS Team is taken from the best and finest gauged VS Touch and only the most uniform gauged Touch will then become VS Team.

I was told this by Babolat, when I asked them in an email last year.

Just look at the description on Tennis Warehouse.com:

VS Team 17:
Babolat's top of the line Natural Gut in a thin, spin responsive 17 gauge. Consistent winner of the USRSA String Survey for Playability. Used by top touring pros and players who demand ultimate feel and control. VS Natural Team Gut is constructed with a tighter gauge tolerance than any previous Babolat VS Natural Gut offering. Includes Thermogut Technology - a process of high temperature finishing that increases the cohesion of the fibers down to the core of the string.

VS Touch 16:
Premium grade natural gut and our best selling gut string. Great combination of power, comfort and feel. Thermogut Technology Finishing increases durability (+25%) and resistance to humidity (+60%), according to Babolat.

I've tried both, and the vs team is noticeably better. Also, most pros who use gut use the vs team, in hybrids, with alu power or pht, or whatever. It is the best feel/control/tens. main. string in the world. If anyone knows where I can get some for a deal let me know.

I've heard of people getting actual reels of team... is this possible for the general public?

Sorry, but I think you have been mislead.

Natural gut is NATURAL and comes from intestines from cows and because of that it's not possible to get reels of natural gut :)

I do NOT think you can beat $42.95 price per package

sure you can. just don't publicize where you got it, or how much you paid.

I had a wilson stringer offer me it at $25/set, but he flaked! No such thing as a cow with 660' intestines.

In hybrids, would it be better to use the vs touch then the vs team? since it has a thicker gauge?

Dont they split the actual intestines into several long strands? so 1 ft would essentially create 3 or 4 ft?

You could if you had jumped on TW 20% off gift cards during their Black Friday sale.
