This is the best lineup I've seen in years. I'm very tempted to attend. They are doing a live webcast for those of you that can't attend:

Am I reading right that it costs ~$300/person for this? $269 for a pass plus all the service fees and other ticketmaster stuff......so maybe more like $350 knowing ticketmaster.

I haven't been to a concert (besides local stuff in the park) for years? Is this a good deal? Is this what people pay for a few shows these days? Seems like over the course of 3 days each person would spend ~$700.

Sorry, I was lowballing severely with the $700 estimate. Looks like well over $1,000 per person for the event.

I'm just floored that the kids these days can afford something like this. I was lucky to be able to scrape up $20 for festival seating and $20 to chip in for gas, beer, and weed.

Really good line-up - if I was going, I would make it a point to see:

New Pornographers
Kings of Leon
Broken Social Scene
Rural Alberta Advantage
Mumford & Sons
The National and
Good Old War

It's still a good value for the number of bands playing. It sold out last year. My friend sold his tickets and got more than twice what he paid.

Thanks, not too bad for an old fart

FWIW, Rural Alberta Advantage is not too well known but I really like their songs that I have heard.

Interesting and thanks for the reply.

I'm so far removed from this "scene" that I have lost touch with how much this stuff costs and what people are willing to pay.

Well regular concerts cost something like $100 for a couple hour show and if you see the number and quality of acts, you actually get far more for your money then you do at normal shows.
