Verdasco come back from the brink in his second round and found his forehand again. His forehand has not been as steady since the whole Tecni/Dunlop fiasco but we will not se any more switching, he is hitting the forehand with aggression again it's amazing what a little confidence does.

Makes me a believer in the oh-so-fine line these athletes walk. The degree at which that guy unloads on the ball is almost inconceivable to me.

I think he has a decent chance of beating Berdych but Djokovic's is too tough for him to handle

He faces Federer in the federer in the quarters?

Anyway, Fer beat djoko 2 times in a row last season.

I think he meets djokovic first doesn't he?

Did Dasco play as well as the articles on the AO website are suggesting?

Really wish I'd seen this match...

FeVer was a mental rock, Nishikori had chances to break but verdasco shut the door on him with either a huge serve on huge forehand. His backhand down the line wasn't missing as it can do on his bad days, his forehand was making Nishikori run a marathon.

Slightly of the point, but it has always seemed to me verdasco prefers the 3 out of 5 sets format, I think he feels less pressure to do well out of the blocks like he does in 2 out of 3 sets. I always found verdasco to peak in the slams even after poor results in the other events.

Verdasco played like a champion. His forehand was brutal. He was absolutely crushing the ball. It was some caveman sh*t. Unbelievable the amount of pace and angles.

Yes he was absolutely crushing those forehands and serves. And you are right the backhand line was working well also
