It states that on the new Yonex RDX 300's that the beam is straight, appart from the very tip of the racket where it is thicker, to extende the sweetspot.

Is it the same on the RDX 500's?

No. The RDX 500s are not thicker at the tip.

According to TW, width goes from 18MM to 20MM, 20MM being toward the top of head (confirmed via phone).

Before I answered, I pulled one down off the wall and measured it myself, at the tip and at about 7 o'clock on the hoop, so it seems not to flare at the tip.

gregraven,
The other posters are referring to the RDX 300, not the 500. Although with the title of the post, I can see how this one is confusing. You are correct in that the 500 has a straight beam. The 300 flares slightly at the tip.

Cheers,
Chris, TW.

Chris,
What is the beam width of the RDX500 Mid? Says 18-20MM on TW spec. description so it's either wrong or not a flat beam.
