You would think Homeland Security would have more important matters than video streaming sites, things like, oh I don't know - homeland security? :?

Live Score Hunter is still up for now though.

Apparently it's still alive, you just have to add ".me" where ".net" used to be.

Are they actually serious with spending up to 5 years in prison for posting live streaming events? LOL.

Im pretty sure some murderers come out of prison in a shorter space of time.

But Murderers don't cost million and billion dollar tax paying corporations money. If nobody copyrighted more people would buy, the company would make more money, and have to pay more in taxes.

Its not like we have 12-20 million illegal aliens to worry about so they had plenty of time to bring down this site.

It's a copyright issue, get used to it. They'll be using superfast computers to scan websites soon, so these things will be pulled off almost immediately. Won't require expenditure of anyone's time at all.

Wait, ICE is for immigration and customs. What business do they have taking down stream sites?

no but taxpayers foot the bill for defense attorneys, jail time, etc.

on a side note - heard on public radio that coroners are elected and aren't required to have any medical training/experience/etc. UNBELIEVABLE are the stories where the diagnosis/autopsy was completely erroneous and the impact was appalling.

Re coroners:
1) they are not elected in all jurisdictions. Where I live the county executive appoints a coroner.
2) most coroners are pathologists but they need not be physicians; some have legal backgrounds and hire pathologists to do the autopsies.

They are just wasting their time and flexing their muscle. Websites will just move their domain name to a different country... like atdhe already did.

Why is Homeland Security and ICE even involved in this?

So Janet Napolitano can look like shes too busy doing something else than to worry about securing our borders.

If it's a copyright issue then why is the Homeland Security involved?

Answer: They have the power to sieze websites whereas private corporations do not.

But Homeland Security is clearly misusing its authority to serve corporate power.

It is not a copyright issue, it's a first amendment and abuse of power issue.

Bartelby
02-02-2011, 07:15 PM
Yes, well, well, the government may have made copyright issues a matter of national security after all. They'll send those video-pirates off to be tortured on occupied Cuban territory in Guantanamo next.

Abuse of power maybe, but how is it a violation of your first amendment?

I wouldn't have thought Hustler was either??? Security laws being used to shut down a (re-)broadcaster could be used as a precedent, we just don't know, and basically anything is arguable in law especially where a law is a vague right.

who can we thank for the "virtual fence" that did virtually nothing and cost the taxpayers a billion or so? another hosing down of the taxpayer.

You guys have to remember, Secretary of Homeland Security is Janet Napolitano (previous Governor of Arizona), or if that doesn't jog your memory:

"Terrorists are from Canada!"

Should help us all know who's running our government...

There is a case going on over here in the UK at the moment concerning the broadcast of football by streams and satellites.

Interesting that it should come in the same week that websites who broadcast our football games have been shut down.
