So with all the talk of trying to figure out who uses what, my questions is simple: Who actually uses the new racquet they are listed as useing? Can we get a list started here?

Isner
Federer

Did you really put Federer on that list? Please provide some evidence as to why you think he uses the racket that he endorses.

There have been a lot of threads on the boards about Federer's racquet being a customized K90.

Federer should be using a PS Tour 90. If top 500 players use PJ I laugh at the idea of Federer using a stock frame.

But plenty of evidence to convince you that Isner uses an EXO3 Black? Oh wait, you guessed.

Federer, since his nCode PJ, has used a frame exceptionally similar to the retail K90. One easy way to tell is the amount of grommets on the PWS (3 as opposed to 4). Before his nCode PJ, consult Equijet (http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=222350), and before that, he used the PS 6.0 85 without a PJ.

Dear god, do we have to go through this again?

It is 100% confirmed he does not use a current BLX frame. Instead he uses a K6.1 Tour painted like one. We even know the exact weight, balance, strings, tensions, replacement/overgrip specs etc. The only aspect that is really in question is whether Wilson make his frame using different materials (kevlar etc and what percentages).

The smart people on this site have even shown his string drill pattern to have slightly different spacing than the retail model.

You can discover this in detail by reading this thread (http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=347886). It covers the pros/cons of almost every opinion on this topic - with close-up photos comparing Fed's actual current frames, his previous PJ frame and the retail versions.

Just as a quick reminder, only a few weeks ago in this thread here (http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=364203&page=3) you reckoned you knew Federer's tension from the guy who strung Federer's racquets (http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showpost.php?p=5386740&postcount=35") - only for the actual person who strings Federer's frames to post that you were wrong.

Listen, there is no need to get defensive or take this out on everyone else. You voluntarily came forward with some false information, yet claimed it to be correct. You volunteered this information even though this issue has been discussed to death in the past. Yet when someone calls you out on the error, you get defensive and start yelling at everyone. We will not be quiet if you can't handle the criticism you receive for your own actions. Making claims that you cannot back up with facts is your mistake, not ours. Attempting to downplay the error and responding with anger isn't going to help your cause. Learn to live with the consequences of your own actions rather than deflecting.

Fair enough. Maybe it's just the way you frame your posts on this topic, they sometimes come across like you just forget what was posted in previous threads you've contributed to. You've posted a few times posing the basic topic here and then chosen to ignore the people who've spent years researching the topic (Fabfed for example who has secured a number of actual Fed frames at charity auctions) passionately and who undoubtedly know more about it. Including Fed's racquet guy, Ron from Priority 1.

and i didn't say my friend strung his racquets, i said a guy on the internet strings racquets and has put alot of tensions up.
I didn't suggest you said it was your friend but, on the same token, you didn't say it was a guy on the internet who simply put a lot of tensions up. You said here (http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showpost.php?p=5386740&postcount=35): "federer tension from the aussie 2011 was 55/52lbs. said a guy who strung his racquets" - The person you later referenced (Colin the stringer), as your source I assume, never claimed anything of the sort.

And I think your PJ obsession smacks a littel of the man on the grassy noll...

At a recent challenger I spent some time in teh stringing room and was amused by the overwhelming dominace of retail frames. OMG, not even lead tape!!!

Many of the women actually use the retail racquets. Guys are a completely different story TENNIS.com: At the 2002 U.S. Open, when you were working with Pete Sampras, you told me during the first week that you thought Pete would win. You were right. Who are your clients now?

Nate Ferguson: Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic, Robin Soderling, Fernando Gonzalez, Lleyton Hewitt, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Mardy Fish, Sam Querrey, John Isner, Gael Monfils, Marcos Baghdatis and Stan Wawrinka.

TENNIS.com: I notice there are no women on that list. Why donít more women pros customize their frames?

Nate Ferguson: Men care and they notice the difference in their racquets when they are customized. And itís not that I say women donít care about customization at all, because there are exceptions, but generally, in my experience, women get the racquet theyíre given and play with that. I heard a story about a lady who played all the way through the quarters of Wimbledon with one string job. Women pros are perhaps not as technically orientated as men. There are exceptions, donít get me wrong, but in my experience itís extremely limited.

TENNIS.com: I was told that early in her career, Serena was playing with a game-improvement racquet you could buy off the shelves of a Modellís or a retail store.

Nate Ferguson: Iíve heard the same thing. Serena kicked everyoneís *** playing with essentially retail racquets, and Venus was the same way for a while. They were not using elite player frames so they had to string it very tight, using all gut, or they would break their strings. It makes you wonder if Serena would have won even more, had she been playing with a frame best suited for her game.

Guys switch racquets too, just look at djokovic switching from wilson to head, or tsonga from wilson to babolat, sampras from wilson to babolat(seem like ppl are switching away from wilson in general lol).

Federer said in the interview here that he told wilson to make blx90 as close to the one he's playing in this interview:
http://www.tennis-x.com/story/2010-08-21/k.php
So here you go, Federer said BLX90 that he's playing close to retail. But I'm sure he's lying because there's no way this can be true, because all the "evidence" that you guys have about him using a K90..... oh wait, what evidence? I've wasted my time going through Fadfed's Roger's BLX90 thread and there's no actual evidence about the racquet being a K90. All we know is that Federer uses a customized racquet. If there's any hard evidence suggesting that it's a K90, I would like to hear it.

A lot of these folks are just trying to justify their fixation with old PT630s and antique baseball bats (oops, I mean Wilson pro stocks)

Fact is, pros racquets are little different from the retail ones, and, more importantly, the pros could still win with one of those $49.00 Dunlops from the K-Mart...

Federer said in the interview here that he told wilson to make blx90 as close to the one he's playing in this interview:
 Nice try.

Federer would also say he wears the Vapour 8s also.. yet he doesn't. Well, they look like they are, but there are some key differences - and those are just the ones we can see.

As for his frame. Do you really think Federer has hit with a retail BLX? His frames are made specifically for him, likely from a different make-up materials-wise, and using the K6.1 Tour mould but drilled slightly differently. He would probably know that but it's not worth his effort explaining it in a 3 min interview.

Actual frames of his have been measured, compared and scrutinised to show indelibly they are not BLXs - they aren't even from the same mould as the BLX so they're can't even be retail frames which have been customised.

The other quite obvious thing - which you would know had you actually read through the other thread - is the retail BLX and Federer's frames have different paint jobs. If he used a current retail frame even slightly modified, why would they swap the inside throat decals over to the opposite side of where they are on the retail frame?

So, once again, there are plenty of posts in the other threads doing side-by side comparisons to a level of detail probably unmatched anywhere else.
