Anyone else think last night's oscars were terribly boring and just plain...bad? I thought Franco and Hatheway were terrible hosts and their attempt at comedy was uncomfortably bad. Very dissapointed with last night's show.

I don't watch movies any more. I just wait for the Oscars to see the clips and that is enough.

tennis players should not watch time-wasters like the oscars

The ratings get worse just about every single year and I suspect last nights will be one of the lowest rated ever as well. Not many people want to watch a bunch af doped up actors pat each other on the back by telling them how great they are even though most of us cant stand most the movies they tell us are so fantastic. . Just wait til next week and another awards show will be on as these guys cant wait to dress up and talk to Joan Rivers on the red carpet.

Agree with the above, I have about 1,290 other priorities higher than watching a smug-festival.

Towards the end Anne flubbed a line pretty bad and played it off great when she said

"Everybody at home take a drink"

Of course nobody laughed becuase it wasnt scriped and they dont how to react.

James Franco was higher than a kite the entire time. Also, why in God's name do you need to cheaply auto-tune a few movies? That was awful. (I had to watch it for for my newspaper assignment.)

I really miss Billy Crystal as a host. He was funny and just good at his job. The last couple of years have been pretty weak but this year's was horrible.

I now feel fully justified for supporting Ricky Gervais

Wow. It must have been a really bad show then.

Franco was Ok, but not great. He seemed a bit stoned actually.

Must see Academy Awards if he hosts.

Franco seemed like a lot of actors when they are not actually acting. They just aren't the most charismatic folks, sometimes.

I have to say, it is not easy watching a bunch of really old people trying not to look quite so old. I hadn't seen Billy Crystal in a while, and . . . . my goodness . . . he looked a hundred. Had a very drawn, pinched, tight fat face. What on earth happened to him?

Wow, that picture of Billy Crystal makes me think of what the Beaver ended up looking like when he grew up.
