I don't wanna subscribe to another month of tennisplayer.net just to view more vids on 2nd serve motions.

Anyone have vid links or something that'll help me? I keep reading about kickserves but I just cannot visualize it. A good vid would help.

My 2nd mostly always goes slightly long. I know I need more racket head speed or brushing up more but I don't think I'm even doing it right in the first place. Net clearance is not that much.

Pictures would help! Use your legs to thrust you up helps a lot.

If it is slightly long, try toss the ball slightly into the court more.

I would say, try whatever it is you do on your first serve except use the entire motion to generate topspin, but until you show what you have been doing i really can't help.

But I can send you the results of a .25 second google search

Google is your friend.

You could also tape some pro matches and watch some of their second serves. Safin has a nice kick second...

Prince of Tennis's advice about using your legs is best.

Try choking up on the handle so you will hit with less power and not have slightly long second serves anymore.

i disagree with you there, choking up takes away some head speed, you need that for the extra kick you need on the serve.

Sometimes hitting harder gets your consistency up.. The harder you spin the ball, the more it will come down into the court. The softer the second serve is hit, the more inconsistent it will become. Never be afraid of hitting the second serve. If you're just trying to get it in the box, hit up the ball as hard as you can.

I'll keep working on it.
