ATP Barcelona 2011 has already started with the championship final scheduled for April 24th.

Rafael Nadal is in the draw after skipping the event last season and he is a five-time champion at the event having won titles between 2005 and 2009. Nadal has a 25 match winning streak going in the event and his only loss come in 2004 to Alex Corretja.
The tournament is a part of the 500 series on the ATP Tour, a level below the Masters series tournaments, however it is still an important event during the clay court season.

It would be surprising if Nadal were not in the final match next weekend although perhaps a well-rested Robin Soderling will have something to say about that.

Other top players in the draw include Andy Murray, David Ferrer, Tomas Berdych, Jurgen Melzer, Gael Monfils, and Nicolas Almagro.

I wouldn;t be surprised if we again see Nadal and Ferrer in the finals.

Yeah... also depends on Murray too. Would be better for him if he skipped this one though..

Have Robin and Andy confirmed participation ?

Soderling will definitely play - there is nothing wrong with him (the article that appeared last week about him pulling out of MC was bogus - it was based on him pulling out of the 2010 event).

Murray drove to Barcelona yesterday and will make a decision on his participation later in the week.

Mmm, not easy for a 500 event. Nadal could face Monfils, berdych/soderling and Murray/Ferrer. I would skip this one, clay season is long

Looking like a great event especially for Masters 500. Not sure why Robin would have anything to say as he had beaten Nadal once out of the four times they have played on clay?

Anyway should be good but I dont think Nadal can win them all he has to lose one maybe this is it?
