Although he was never in contention to win a slam. I miss seeing him going deep in tournaments........what do you think has sparked this down fall and do you think he can get back to being a top ten player again?

ya most tennis players are done and dusted by 30..davy was extra unfortunate because a poor end to the season prevented him from defending TMC points so it was like a double whammy so he fell hard and just doesn't have the legs to climb back up through tougher draws

Probably a lack of motivation. He's always been about getting paid, not so much enjoying the game.. and he's got enough money nowadays that i could see him being less interested.

He changed his racquet alot today and didn't seem happy with it.
He will be back once the american hard courts come back into sight.

Federer, Nadal, Djokovic and Murray shut the doors on slam opportunities. Del Potro as well. Federer beat the hope out of him a long time ago (15-2).

Well he's better than Nadal as indicated by H2H so might as well quit while he's ahead.

He hasn't been the same since his broken wrist last year either.

that's right, just like Nadal is better than djokovic as indicated by the h2h and slam count and number of overall titles.

Too bad Davy is not a factor in slams any more. For the moment, at least.

Theory #17: He has gone soft, he cares more about Tea than Tennis.

Davydenko is at all the tournaments. He has just become so thin that he is not visible. Have you noticed how Nadal can hit a shot from way out wide and it curves in from outside the court and lands within the lines? That is actually Davydenko catching the ball and throwing it back in.

No because a true GOAT must have a winning h2h against true class Rogi. :/

When did he switch from Prince to Dunlop ?

Yeah, it's funny how people talk so much sh*t about roger seeing as how he's #3 in the world at the age of 29. Not many people could do what he's doing at his age. Makes him all the more incredible. Agassi did that as well when he was pretty old. And it seems for some reason agassi doesn't get much respect around here.

When did he switch from Prince to Dunlop ?

When Prince gave all the money to Sharapova, so there was nothing left for him :)

So Ferrer plays for free, or has he shifted also?

Davydenko experienced to major changes that setback his game. One is he broke his wrist. Two he changed rackets from Prince to Dunlop. The third change is his clothing from Bear brand to Dunlop brand.

If you are off one or two shots a game; you probably loose more matchs. I think that what happen to Nickolay.

I think it late last summer like August time period. I do not know if Prince drop him or he got a better offer from Dunlop that he could not past up or that Prince refuse to match Dunlop.

It was much easier to compete in a weak era like in 2003-2007.

Not many people can get up to number 3 in the world no matter what age they are.
