Hi guys, for a school project I have to do a project on my weaknesses in tennis and analyse against elite performers who currently still play tennis.

Anyway's I don't really watch a lot of tennis now days so I was wondering on hearing some peoples opinions on who they think has the best/decent lob shot in today's era of tennis. If anyone can provide photos or video links with there player it'd be greatly appreciated

Thanks :)

*waits for someone to come in and say all of Nadal's shots are actually lobs*

I always thought that Lleyton Hewitt was one of the best lobbers I have seen. Here's a video of several of his:

Murray´s lobs are very beloved on this board, but I´d pick Hewitt´s lobs any day over Andy´s.

Nice post. Hewitt's topspin lob is a beauty. He hits with such perfect trajectory that it was impossible to take smash or run back to get it.

Hewitt and Nalbandian.

Hewitt by a country mile.

Too bad his other groundies travel in the same velocity as his lobs.

Surprised people have not mentioned Nalbandian more. His lobs are by far the best. Karlovic would not get a racket on one of Nalbandian's lobs.

gotta go with lil' Hercules. Mr. Leyton Hewitt. I think its pretty much a blow out right now. Dudes just got a sick sick lob and he knows when to use it. I mean it has to be a 2hbh player because you get some serious topspin with it and Hewitt is just great off both wings with his lob.

Hewitt, no question

But then again, "All of Nadal's shots are lobs", so I'd have to say it's close ;)

I said it, Brooklyn :p

Hewitt by far, the best topspin lobber ever! If you are looking for slice lob, then Federer.

Hewitt, his lobs look so effortless and unpredictable, trajectorys are close to perfection.
From today's top I like Djokovic's lobs.
Over the last years there also happened such shots as tweener-lob
(Norman, Blake, DelPotro) and smash-lob (Federer). You should see that!:)

Right now prolly Hewitt or Murray, but when Nalbandian were around i think he had the best lob. Or maybe he played it more often than others, so he made up for good highlights hah. Well. I certainly think it looked as impressive as the rest of his game when he was on, certainly one of the most talented underachievers along with Rios. Both some of the best mix of dropshots, dropvolleys, lobs, angles, no big servers, but boy, in lapses they looked like the most talented players in the World.

Hewitt then Andy. Hardly anyone to lob. :(

Its Hewitt obviously, when he retires it will be Murray. Hewitt was always known for his excellent lobs tho, you only have to watch any footage of them to see how pinpoint and well played they are.

Hewitt used to. In the current game there's probably better though.
