Is the prince ozone tour a good stick? I like the specs but when its got prince on it, I'm always skeptical about it. Ive had some awful rackets from prince, and was just wondering id the ozone tour was a good stick.

Yes, it's a good stick. Now wasn't that helpful? :)

What are you playing with now and what kind of frames have you used/liked in the past? The Ozone Tour doesn't provide as much power as most tweeners, but isn't underpowered like traditional player's frames, either. Spin is excellent. It's a tweener tweener, slotted between tweeners and player's frames. It has a flexible and muted feel that's not for everyone and is very easy on the arm. I saw the Ferrer match today and it looks like he's still using it with an EXO3 Tour PJ. I know Albert Montanes had one at Indian Wells. I have four of them and should probably buy more before they're gone forever.

Super comfortable stick to hit with. I believe it's around 11.5 oz so it wasn't terribly light or heavy for me. It is pretty flexible and soft.

Yes, its a good frame which does everthing well, especially s&v in my experience.

Also a comfortable spin monster from the back court. My only gripe is the muted feel (rubber grommets in throat) and that it is a PITA to string!

Otherwise a lot to recommend it. I bought it as a backup to my m-fil 300's as it is a totally different animal. Not better or worse per se but different.

Here is a link to a post I put up concerning numerous racquets I demoed and why I decided on the Prince Ozone Tour: http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=339154

I've stuck with this racquet for about 10 months straight without demoing anything else. Ask the guys on the board...this is a record for me - and probably shocking for them!!!

I have to say that when I first tested the Ozone Tour I really didnt expect much. BOY WAS I WRONG!!! At the time it was an impulse buy while I waited for my Prestige to come. It was "love" after about the first 2 hours. Even after my Prestige came in I couldn't put this stick down. Very good at the net, moves like a dream. Volleys were solid and I found a lot of touch on drop volleys and drop shots. From the baseline it was a beast on both wings. A Tweener tweener at retlod put it is a very truthful statement. I found monster spin and pop without any harshness on my arm. Very pillow like even with full poly. Plenty of spin and a breeze to flatten out shots as well. Plenty of action and pop on serves as well.

Didn't really have issues stringing, well none that you wouldnt find in other Prince port frames.

Also coming from a life of a racket addict, I decided to rid my bag of all frames besides these and I haven't looked back. Plus, with the price new or used its a wonderful buy.

what would be the issues in stringing them? Wouldn't it actually be easier to string than a regular racquet with grommets because the holes are so big? i don't get it *EDIT* NM I saw the thing with the Banana Tool and the strings moving issue*

Also... how would you compare the Ozone Tour with the Prestige you ordered?

Just because it's an 03 and I don't have a table lock or a boomerang and can't be faffed to string it 50/50.

I have to resort to a pen lid in the Oport to stop the string tensioning off to one side. Adds about 15 mins to the average string job for me.

Look at Yulittles vids on You-Tube to see the issue with O3 frames.

I even have a table brake, but it's not strong enough to hold the frame when I pull high tensions, so I resort to the Boomerang Tool. It's more trouble, yes, but only lengthens the job time by about 60 seconds. Some of the tie-off grommets on these frames are also ridiculously small, too. Not easy to string, but worth it when I get out on the courts.

TOTALLY DIFFERENT frames. While the control in the Ozone is good, control with the prestige is wonderful, and the feel is devine, serves are bigger with the Prestige. However, IMO the Ozone is more comfortable, forgiving, quicker at the net, produces much more spin, customizable without getting too heavy, second serves are better. While there are things that the Prestige does much better than the Ozone Tour, the Ozone Tour does everything well.

Yea, in some ways the frame is easier to string than most frames because of the O-ports, but the crosses cause a slight issue. I use the Boom-tool without issue. I figure the time I made with the O-ports goes into using the Boom-Tool for a couple of crosses. Also the non-grommet holes are sometimes small. That being said I will take all those issues over string my Prestige CAP grommets can be a PITA.

agreed. ozone tour is a does everything well racquet. there are racquets like the prestige line that will offer more control or the pure drive that will give a lot more pop or the aeropro drive that has more spin but the ozone tour just does a lot of stuff great and you literally can't beat the price.

for me the ozone tour only lacked some control on volleys for me. i'm playing with the exo3 tour 18x20 and it's a no adjustment needed switch. a smidge less pop and spin but loads more control on all shots - volleys included.

Anyone experiences instability with Ozone Tour ? For me any offcenter shots feels weak and unstable. I can ussually fix this with just adding some lead at 3&9 or 2&10, but this stick feels unstable even with lead.

^ yes off center shots are very weak....
Aren't we suppose to hit in the center of the string bed when we play?
