Recently i made a thread on how i had interest in the yonex rdis 100 mid, but ive also read some reviews on the pb10 midplus and i just wanted to know some of the comparisons between them in terms of which one has better control on groundstrokes, and how they perform on serves and volleys.

Bump

any comments are appreciated, even if you havent played with both, as long as you've played with one, then you can comment.

I spent a little time with the Volkl as a demo. Definitely a control oriented, low powered frame. I found it to be good for all the characteristics you mention, but all its qualities paled in camparison to its big brother the PB 10 Mid. I'm not sure you what you are looking for in a new racquet, but if you value a softer hit with lots of feedback perhaps you should give the Mid a try also.

Just switched to the PB10 MP from the PDRGT due to the beginnings of some elbow issues. Does everything better that that racquet other than serve... After going back and playing the PDR, it was like swinging a log.

I also demoed the Organix 325, PB10 Mid, PSTGT and Becker Melbourne. For my game right now, the PB10 MidPlus was the clear winner. I could see myself switching over to the smaller mid in a year or two, but as a 4.5 just coming back to the game after 10 years, I could tell it was gonna be a frustrating experience.

Even though it is a bit less maneuverable than it's smaller brother, I still find it to be pretty scalpel like and a great players frame. I personally won't touch the Mid until I'm playing solid 5.0 tennis again....

I have two pristine PB 10 MPs looking for a new home. They are incredibly precise frames.

do you have the 325 or 295 version?

Sorry for the multiple posts. I guess that the site's slowness and my impatience had me pressing the "Reply" button too many times:), although, other sites usually only register the response once. Isn't there an edit function?

Hit the reply button about 42 times next time and you will have the 50 posts necessary to edit. ;) The msg board has a min post requirement before allowing editing...I recall being frustrated that I couldn't edit my spelling when I started posting.

Would like to hear about your review, thanks.

well, what would you like to know? The feel is Volkl amazing. I am kind of disappointed because it doesnt seem as soft as the mid, which was what i was looking for, but still good. The 19mm beam is sweet, of course. the main downside i would say is the 18x20 pattern, but that may be because since the Prestige I have switched to 16x19 so now i have to get used to the dense strings again. It swings light enough so need to go to the gym. Very stable. I am liking it, but I may go back to the Rdis200. right now it's up in the air; I am deciding these 2 frames. when you hit on time the plow through is good. on mishits though you feel it right away. keep your eye on the ball!

how would you compare the pb 10 midplus with the x10 325, pstgt, and melbourne?

Thanks Zapvor, I ordered one based on the specs (and my age) but have not had the chance to hit with it.

The lighter version, added about 10 gr. Will try it this weekend.
