are the string gauges mislabled?

16 says 1.30, but im package says 1.25.

RSI says 17 is 1.20, not 1.25

There is no 1.20 version of the BHBR string.

Hope that clears it up.

The 16g package was mislabeled saying it was 1.25mm. As far as we know, 16g should be 1.30mm, and 17g should be 1.25mm. However, in light of the measurements taken in the rsi article, we will follow up with Tourna.

Thanks for the heads up.

Measured on my tourna stringmeter the 16g and 17g do fit into their respective categories, although the stringmeter doesn't use the "L" category. Technically the 16g is a 16L.

www.tennis-warehouse.com/LC/StringReference.html

15 = 1.41-1.49 mm 17 = 1.20-1.24 mm
15L = 1.34-1.40 mm 17L = 1.16-1.20 mm
16 = 1.26-1.33 mm 18 = 1.10-1.16 mm
16L = 1.22-1.26 mm 19 = 1.00-1.10 mm

Reels don't have the millimetre measurement but both 16 & 17 g packets say 1.25mm

right, and they use a sharpie and black out the 1.25mm on the 17g packets.

I did look at the old non-roughs and notice the sharpie black out :)

measured some unstrung 17g with my digital calipers, ranged from 1.18 to 1.20.. definitely NOT 1.25.
