View Full Version : Prince Tour 16 silver string

Hi. My friend would like me to string his racquet at 65 lbs. He wants me to use this string on the mains: http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Prince_Tour_16_Silver_String/descpageACPRINCE-PT16.html. What is my approach for these strings? Do I string at 5%, 10%, or 15% looser or tighter than 65 lbs, or do I just string it at 65 lbs?
I will be using a multifilament or some other synthetic string on the crosses.
Please let me know. Thank you for your help.

Rule of thumb is to string polys 10% lower than reference due to stiffness. However, poly tends to hold tension relatively poorly, so they'll be dropping naturally. It's really up to you. Golden rule (regardless of which rule of thumb you decide to go with) is to stay consistent. Some would argue you could string the poly 10% higher to compensate for tension loss, but IMHO, string at reference or 10% below.

Prince Tour is a co-poly, and on the soft side...

The stiffness rating for Prince Tour is 256. The stiffness rating for Alu Power is 242. Does stiffness affect softness or vice versa?
