Hi guys
I would like to make a request for the specification section of the shoes that you have for sale.
Please include "stack height" of the heel and forefoot.

here is an example from 'Running warehouse' (not sure of your affiliation)

Weight: 7.9 oz (size 9)

Stack Height: Heel (20mm), Forefoot (11mm)

How It Fits (based on width D) Width D=Medium

Sizing: Standard running shoe length
Heel: Medium
Midfoot: Medium to full volume
Forefoot: Medium
Toe-Box height: Medium-low
Arch Structure: Low height

It would be valuable information on which to base purchase and comparison
decisions.
Thank you for the consideration
Regards
Stuart

Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately at this time we will not be measuring the stack height. Adding something like that would take a lot of time and effort but we haven't completely ruled it out for the future. We do try on every shoe and try to give an accurate weight, length, width, and arch support. If there is any shoe you have specific questions, please let us know and we would be happy to answer them.

Thirded. I don't know if running warehouse would share their methods (also not sure of your affiliation). I asked them in the past and they wouldn't disclose their methods. I devised my own method and can measure the stack height of a shoe in under a minute.

Thanks,

I am looking for tennisshoes with a low heel to toe drop. When the reviewers say it has a low to the ground feel, do they also mean a small difference between heel height and ball of foot height?

Btw. My left foot is one size smaller than my right one. Do you think it's worth it to buy 2 different sized shoes, so that the balls of my feet are both on the bendingpoints of the shoes?

Thanks again :)

JohnB,

When our reviewers mention the low to the ground feel, they are mostly referring to how close the shoe feels to the ground or how deep they sit in the shoe. If there is a specific shoe you would like measured, I would be able to get it measured for you from our sister company, Running Warehouse.

For two different sized feet, it is more of a personal preference. You can buy two different sized shoes as an option. Chris also recommends buying the shoe in the larger size and wearing two pairs of socks (or thicker).

newyorkstadium,

Yes, Running Warehouse is our sister company. We have spoken to them about their measuring process and the positives and negatives. Here is their video on how to measure the heel drop:

We still haven't ruled out the measurements for the future. If there is a specific shoe you would like measured, I would be able to get it measured for you.

Thanks Brittany. I've seen that video. They wouldn't disclose what the apparatus was, but I've created my own device that accurately and quickly measures stack height anyway.

Either the new Vapor 9.5 or Lunar Ballistec would be brilliant. Whichever is easiest. I'm thinking of buying them off TW after reading your review and the forum comments. Thanks.

newyorkstadium,

They also created their own device for measuring and are using digital calipers.

I will measure both of those shoes and get back to you in a few days. Is there a specific size you want measured?

Brittany,
Not attempting to hijack the thread, but would it be possible to also measure the stack height of the Lotto Raptor IV's in a size 11 1/2? I have found them to have a very preferable heel-toe drop and was wondering what exactly that drop was. Thanks! TW customer service is always impeccable!

I would also like to know the stack height for the Adidas CC feather 3 and the Head Sprint Pro, if possible. Size 10.5 mens. I agree that all of TW staff have wonderful customer service, especially Brittany in my experience.

henman_fan,

We won't be getting the adidas adizero CC Feather IIIs until mid year. Are you referring to the adidas adizero Feather IIIs (non-CC version) or adidas adizero CC Feather II?

Thanks so much Brittany. This has made my decision much easier. I recognise this is a bit out of your way, but could you measure the Vapor 9 Tour and Air Vapor Advantage?

I have measured these myself and would like to see how accurate my method is compared with a digital caliper. Sorry for being a nuisance :)

Brittany,

Do you think the measurements are the same for different sizes of the same model? E.g. The measurement of the Lunar Ballistec. Do you think the stack height would be the same if you would have measured a different size?

Thanks,
John

I should add my measurements were roughly:

Vapor 9 Tour Size 12 - 36mm (Heel)

newyorkstadium,

Yes, I can measure those shoes. Please give me a day or two to measure as I have to borrow Running Warehouse's device.

JohnB,

I asked the experts at Running Warehouse and they think the measurement should be pretty similar if not the same for different sizes.

Brittany,

Would you, if you have the time and opportunity, like to measure the following shoes:

Barricade 7.0
Kswiss stabilor
Wilson rush pro
Wilson rush ngx
New balance mc 996
New balance mc 1296
Joma pro Roland

Particularly interested in the Wilsons.

Thanks in advance,

John

I got the CC Feather 2 from this thread, which is the best shoe I've ever owned. Unfortunately it's not in stock anymore. Could you measure the new Balance mc996 and 1296, if you don't mind, please? I love New Balance running and trail shoes, so I think I'll try a pair of their tennis shoes.

JohnB,

I have measured the shoes you requested. I was unable to measure the KSwiss Stabilor as we no longer have that shoe in stock.

adidas Barricade 7- Stack Height: 25mm (Heel); 15mm (Forefoot)
Joma Pro Roland- Stack Height: 25mm (Heel); 14.5mm (Forefoot)

The insole does not come out of this shoe so the numbers are slightly skewed.

New Balance 996- Stack Height: 32mm (Heel); 16mm (Forefoot)

The tongues are attached to these shoes so the readings on the toes might be a little off as I had to measure through the shoes but I tried to get as close as possible.

Wilson Rush Pro- Stack Height: 24mm (Heel); 13mm (Forefoot)
Wilson NGX- Stack Height: 21mm (Heel); 12mm (Forefoot)
New Balance 1296- Stack Height: 30mm (Heel); 15mm (Forefoot)

Bump. If this is too time consuming, don't bother. I will buy the CC feather 3 or Head sprint pro instead.

Hi Brittany,

Is there any hope for us that TW will be measuring stack height in the near future? I find this a useful spec which gives me an idea of how a shoe could feel from heel to toe.

Cheers, John

Unfortunately, there are no plans currently to include stack height in the future.
