I saw an interview on the Tennis Channel about a company that will make a custom racquet for you. You specify head size, flex, weight, balance, string pattern and handle shape. They gave a website: racquetmaxx.com but I didn't see anything on it about the custom racquets. Anybody have one made?

RacquetMaxx is the pro tournament stringing team owned by Bob Patterson, who is also the owner of Players Choice Tennis in Birmingham, AL. A really nice guy, BTW. Vantage is the only company I am aware of who is making frames according to customers specs at the moment, AFAIK. Of course, RacquetMaxx can customize frames for weight, balance and swingweight. You might try your post over on the GSS board. Bob is a frequent poster over there.

Bob was the one they were interviewing and he was saying that he was the only one offering total custom racquets in the states.

That's interesting news.....like I said, post this over on the GSS board and I'm sure he'll provide more details.

Looks like a nice service for anyone wanting to match their sticks or customize frames to meet their specs.

REBOB on TV. That is one nice shop he has :)... http://www.**********.com/services.html /JCS does customization too. If you have the bucks, you can get the same service as the pros via Bob or Roman.

Bob was saying he could create a custom mold for you and just make 1 or 2 sticks. This is in addition to the customization that someone in their garage could do. He was also saying that pros often order custom molds from the manufacturer but they would have like a 500 minimum.

Did he say custom mold for the handle or the frame?

Interesting.....Vantage and RacquetMAXX have formed a partnership called Vantage USA. Now all of the pieces are fitting together :-)

yes...I spoke to Paul, and he confirmed that Racquetmaxx will be distributing Vantage frames in the US...so you'll be able to have Vantage racquets shipped domestically, making them an even more financially viable option for Americans than they already were. In fact, including promo discounts, a Vantage will be available to Americans now for pretty much around the same or even cheaper than many competitors (Under 200$)
