View Full Version : Nike Fall Challenger Statement Shorts

I just saw on TW that there is a new pair of shorts available for the fall collection called "Nike Challenger Statement Short".
Is this the pair that Roger will be wearing at the US Open and beforehand in the Masters events leading up top to the open?
I was wondering because I personally prefer shorts with an elastic waistband and internal drawcord, but Federer in recent years has always been sporting a pair with a zip and hooks...Is Nike going back to these shorts for Federer like in 2006 and 2007 season?Or are these just the "take-down" version?
Thank you!

I would be willing to bet that Fed will still be wearing shorts with the zipper and hook fasteners.. unfortunately Nike hasn't given us fans here in the US the option to buy those for the last year and a half, maybe more.

Do you mean you have not been able to buy the shorts with hooks and zip or without recently in the US?
In europe it has always been possible to buy both, although the ones without the zip are normally a tad shorter in length and look ever so slightly different.
Thank you anyway

The ones that have not been offered lately here in the US are the ones with the hook and zipper. I believe Fed's AO2010 pair were the last ones available for retail purchase with hook/zipper in the States

Ok, I just saw that Federers shorts for this fall will be called " Nike Trophy Woven Taped Short". Once again with zip and hooks and all. In europe they are for sale already...But the statement shorts look damn close, even the length is supposedly the same
