My stringer said something like there is a new string from TF that will replace Multifeel. Has anyone heard anything?

Say it ain't so!!! (I'm tired of buying disappointing 'replacement' strings.)

I got 2 packs of Multifeel (16 and 17) and the print on the package was different, it strung alot more easily, and it plays stiffer. It seems more durable too. Since I'm not a string breaker, I'm pretty bummed over this development. They still call it Multifeel though.

TF only seems to think their NRG is any good. The 500 series was SO much better than the TGV that replaced it.

I was hooked on TF's 515 for years. Their TGV was supposed to replace it, but it felt like pure crap. Multifeel is the real deal.

I have been told TGV is the name for 515 in Europe. I do think that some of the manufactures are changing the layup of the strings without promoting the fact.

Man.... I actually liked TGV... it was a stiff multi that frayed nicely and played well in 18x20 patterns....

...and y'all are sayin' that 500/515 (never heard-of) was better???? I MISSED OUT!!!!!!!!!

EDIT: Was it pre-stretched as well... this 500 stuff?

A little off topic..... how does everyone feel about Duramix?

When I used MF 16 as a cross a few months ago, it played way stiffer than I remembered it.

Good stuff, not durable though.

Regular 515 was not pre-stretched, but a string called 515 Gold was pre-stretched.
I bought the last 10 sets of 515 that TW had. Hope I don't have to buy up alot of Multifeel as well.

MF (16) is very soft and I like that.
However, its durability sucks (only 10 hours)
NRG (16) is stiffer, but it lasts 10 more hours.

Well it seems no one has confirmed what I heard from my stringer, hopefully he was mistaken. Anyway, if there is a replacement for MF I would try it and if I didn't like it I'd probably buy up all the reels of the current MF that I could find.

Yes, 515 was lightyears better. Think Sensation being the replacement for NXT.

Tecnifibre just told me that there's no plans to discontinue Multifeel in the USA, and that they're coming out with a new multi in late August.

They definitely changed the formula. It would be great if the new Multifeel became the new string in August, then they brought the old Multifeel back. The new formula in 17g is not a bad string; it just doesn't have the soft playability and control. And the new one is easier to string with.
