I have a 30" waist, and have always been a Small where shorts are concerned. I've seen a few websites that are now quoting 'official' Nike guidelines are that Small is 26-28", with Medium 30-32". Is this accurate?

I have a 34" waist and I have always worn Nike shorts in Large size. I also wear underneathe Nike Pro compression shorts on top of underwear.

they changed since 2009.
i have a 31 and now to use the nadal 2010 shorts in size S i need to cut the internal elastic band. otherwise i buy an M.
i think "M" legs are a bit large for me

I wear a 33" waist and wear Nike medium shorts. They are not tight on my waist at all, but perhaps I'm closer to 32.5" in actuality.

However, note that these were all purchased in 2009, so heed macs971.

i bought some nike mediums about a month ago in medium and they were way too small for my 32 inch waist.

they were wearable but not as comfortable as the adidas mediums i bought, and were also much shorter in length despite both being 9" inseam.

i returned em and if i buy nike again i'll go large.

Thanks guys, this is very useful.

Secondary question: how long are they (with reference to your knees)? To be meaningful, I'd also need to know how tall you are/how long your legs are. I'm 5'10" tall and when buying trousers have a 32" inside leg; I like the styling of the Nadal shorts, but am mildly concerned that they may come down to my shins.

I find the Nadal shorts too long. I prefer the Federer shorts.

The shorts go just below my knees, maybe 1.5-2 inches below my kneecap, I'm 5'8" and wear pants with a 30.5" length...hope this helps

Thanks again guys. I can order with a little more confidence of what to expect now (probably not the Nadal shorts).
