Im going to start teaching my younger sister (12 years old) how to play tennis.

The only thing that concerns me is the backhand is because theres 2 ways to do it. 1 hand and 2 hand.

How do you determine what backhand is comfortable to another person without them having prior playing experience?

And please no smart alec comments. I have enough of those during the day. :-|

With a girl there is about a 90% chance she will do better with a 2 hander.

Go with a 2 hander. It will be much easier for her, and give her more stability and power. Teaching the proper mechanics of the stroke though...good luck with that one.
