Well here are some questions i have been thinking about:

1. how do pro players get the ball to curve inward to the court when they hit sometimes. It is odd, the ball looks like it will go out, but curves into the court for a winner.

2. I have trouble getting a lot of spin on the slice serve, any tips that helped you guys. If i hit it pretty slow it goes in maybe 95 % of the time, but has almost no spin.

3. My coach told me that hitting the ball way in front of me will really help my groundstrokes, but i cant do it on the backhand, any tips to do this?

4. Also for my backhand- i have a two handed backhand but use a semi-western to eastern backhand grip for my right hand the conventional grip for my left hand. Will this hurt me in the future, or is it ok to use this grip (i have tried to hit one handed and i failed... miserably)

Thanks for your help

1. Spin. Topspin makes the ball dip down into the court. Right sidespin makes the ball curve right. Left sidespin makes the ball curve left during flight path. Backspin makes it "float" in the air.

2. Throw it slightly in front of you rather than directly above you. Do a karate chop, except instead of up to down you go back to forward. The catch about spin: don't be afraid to spin it hard. The harder your stroke, the more apparent you will see the effects of the spin.

3. Your coach is right. Make sure your wrists are laid back upon contact, that would make your contact point in front of you yet the ball still goes straight forward.

4. You're left-handed? If you are, then that grip is manageable. Assuming you're right handed, the best two handed backhand grip for you is continental with right hand and semi-western with left hand.
