I hit semi-western to western and am framing the ball around 1/15 times. Do you guys have any suggestions how not to frame the ball with such a grip? :D

Try this,

1. Slow down the feed and just focus on rythym.

2. Grip the handle firmly so you are in control of the head during your back and forward swing.

3. Start the forward movement to the ball from the elbow (a tug or pull from the elbow to get the racquet going forward) and let your arm and rotation follow.

4. Hit flat balls at first and just go through them.

5. After you are crushing those, try a more low to high motion. Your forehand will be a canon, very precise, and will vary in pace.

OK here's my tip:

Slow down the racquet speed and watch the ball to your strings.

So simple, but it works, you don't need to hit winners every shot, wait for a floater or slower return and smash away to your hearts content.

Hi bamboo,

Switching from eastern to semi-western, I used to frame shots a bit too.

I was able reduce the number of frame shots by really concentrating in keeping my eye on the ball. That helped a ton.
