I know this has been debated to death but look at the throat. That's not a tour 90 throat. It looks supsiciously like the Original 85. Check the lower part just above the handle and compare to the images of the Tour 90 at TW

Yeh, we know apparantly Wilson say this can be explained by the fact he wraps his grip lower than what stock tour 90's are done!

I heard on the old board that it was a mixture of the Tour 90 and a box beam version.

I don't know if that is true or not.

The tour 90 has a box beam!

That pic is well cool, apart from the longer shaft at the bottom, everything else looks much more like the Tour 90 than the PS 85!

For the box beam version look on the old boards and do a search.

Pretty useful.

Outside of a few minor details, the frame itself is plain old Tour 90. Its as simple as that...

RaquetDoctor, What strings are those on the Pro Staff pic?

i'm scrutinizing my tour 90 and ps 85 but it's pretty puzzling... paintjob and grip length aside, some more unalterable structural features belong to either one or to the other... 16X19 string pattern certainly belongs to the tour 90... less rounded beam edges are of the ps 85... grooves between the head and the shoulders are of the tour 90... 4 cross strings on the pws mounds belong to the ps 85 (5 for the tour 90)...

Of course this has been debated before, so why stir it up again? I agree it looks like just a retail Tour 90 but with: 1.) string holes drilled in a slightly different configuration all around; 2.) a boxier beam at least in the throat and neck, as well as a slightly thinner cross section in the neck; and 3.) length of handle mold more like on the 6.0 85.

Boxier cross section is in reference to how much the side of the frame buldges out (like the part that is behind the big silver "Wilson" logo). Also, the cross section of the neck (the part that is behind the red Wilson box logo) on Fed's is in pictures visibly more like that on the 6.0 85. The neck on the retail Tour 90 is about 2 mm thicker than a 6.0 85 (looking down at it laying flat on a table). These are changes that are probably done to gain some more feel at the expense of a little stability and make it more like Roger's old stick.

Of course Fed isn't going to make so many changes at once to his racket, but just increase the head size a few sq. in. over that of the 6.0 85 (like he bluntly stated in an interview around the French one year). I'm just surprised that he was willing to have his throats have the ridges like on the store model i.prestige. Maybe Wilson had a nice bonus waiting if he was to accept that detail. :)

By the way, the biggest difference is of course one you can't see. That stick pictured on the old board was said to be 357 g, but much more evenly balanced. I wonder if there are just long strips of lead under the head guard, or if Wilson actually did Fed a favor and put that extra mass in actual graphite form for more feel?

Damn... I can't believe no-one's asked this yet - but since no-one has, I suppose someone must...

What kind of batteries does Roger use in his remote?

Did federer use anything between the ps 6.0 85 and his current stick? Was the red hyper ps just a paint job, or was it actually the hyper pro staff 6.0?

I heard he's using an Energizer (+ up) and a Duracell (+down)

You can't change just one. You might do damage to your $150 frame . . . er I mean . . . remote.

. . . and that little block ribbon behind the batteries, make sure you pull it from both sides.

I think we need an MRT (Master Remote Tech) to help us on this one.

Nice direction with the batteries, guys.

Awright, please find more productive things to do with your life than to troll around these boards and direct immature, stupid comments toward me.

Go hug a nun or something.

Incredible.

You and I alike? Not even close.

Do I go around unprovokingly insulting you in different threads? Of course not - I have no need to 'validate' my perception of you in this way. Why do you insist on doing this; on picking fights? Although you may impress the under 13 crowd with this idiocy, in the eyes of older people, you're simply making yourself look like a bigger jerk each time. Is the immaturity of such actions not blatantly evident to you?

You're like that guy who never shuts up at a party - just goes on and on and on...going from person to person, desperately hoping to find someone who mistakes obnoxiousness for humor...
