The tall guy has been forced to re-schedule the start of the season, meaning that he's withdrawing from at least Doha and AO. The good news though is that his agent said that he'll try to hit a bit in December just to see how he feels.

Kids, don't mess with mono!

I miss having him around. Not many people who with the brute force that he does. Fun to watch when he's playing well.

Wish him a fast recovery. Guys like him are really missed on tour.

Ikea should name one of their furniture items Soderling. He can then retire on royalties alone.

Suggestions on what piece of Ikea furniture his name would suit best are welcome!

I hope he comes back and does well in the Clay Season!

I miss Soderling more than when Del Potro was out. His games against Nadal are entertaining.

Dang seems like he's been out forever. Always entertaining to see him rip the cover off the ball.

Has this been confirmed? If so that's a real shame. I hope this mono situation isn't as serious as Ancic's case.

It was interesting seeing Soderling trying to blast the fuzz off the ball and Dolgopolov was just returning every shot like it was no big deal in their Australian Open meeting earlier this year.

Ugh. I like Sod's game. Maybe he comes back and has his best claycourt season ever? Another RG final with a win this time would make me smile and cap his career. 2012 is the year he and Murray have to post a big result or it may never happen for them.

I wouldn't mind seeing that. Made two finals in a row and is the only guy to ever beat Nadal there (I think? Correct me if I am wrong), so I would like to see him claim a title at the FO.

Yup you are right. Only guy to beat both Nadal and Federer at RG.

Not an auspicious start for Robin in 2012 unfortunately.

On the other hand, he has never done well at the AO for some reason. He admitted as much himself. Hopefully he can pick himself up in time to defend Rotterdam in February, the second of the 4 titles he won this year before his mono kicked in.

That sux! It seems like he has been gone forever!!!???

First Delpo falls off the map for a year, and now Soderling follows right behind him.

Maybe late in 2012 we will have all the big hitters back and healthy?

That tall guy will fall short of top 20 by end of next year

His name seems best suited for an Ikea tool. An Axe.
