There are few voices in the World that are so brilliant, so intense, so human, that the sound of them induces goose bumps and even a few tears of joy. Gloria Lynne's is one of those voices.

The manifestations of a difficult childhood. Or, maybe you're just tone deaf.

1) post an excessive hyperbolic opinion about an artist.
2) wait for inevitable disagreement or joke.
3) lash back at people with insults.

WHO had a difficult childhood??

BOY, you are over-analyzing the situation here. I won't blame on OP for what he is saying. Indeed, some posters might grow up from difficult childhoods, experience marriage failures, and face psychical/mental illnesses; hence, they take on innocent posters. The fact is I am reconsider visiting sites. Common, I have a good job, a good paid, a good life. What I should waste my time for THOSE PEOPLE.

The clicks were impressive. But, the singing didn't do much for me.

Did you listen to the songs? If you had, and you have the slightest ear for music, then I doubt you would characterize my OP as excessive or hyperbolic.

In any event, r2473 knows I was pulling his leg, as I know he was pulling mine. But, I'm sure he appreciates you coming to his defense, nonetheless.

Excessive AND hyperbolic. Listened to them, have heard her before, frequent jazz clubs all the time in NYC and north Jersey (Trumpets is a great club), she's a capable singer, don't find her all that moving, get past this narcissism that says anyone who doesn't agree with you is by definition defective.

EL D was actually a witty post. Maybe YOU are over-analyzing things a bit.

To be fair, that is a pretty subjective statement.

Lynne's a fine talent in the mold of a Sarah Vaughn and of course, the incandescent Ella Fitzgerald:

That's how I feel about Miss Vicki.

TinyTim Trivia: the uke-meister and Miss Vicki not surprisingly named their daugther Tulip. And as any musician will tell you, while a dozen long-stemmed roses on a baby grand piano may look awfully sweet, you still can't beat Tulips on an organ.
