I was given a gift of homemade truffles a couple days ago. I have been jokingly referring to them as bon-bons, as in "What do you think I do all day, sit around eating bon-bons?" Now I am wondering where that phrase originated. My first thought was the old TV sitcom I Love Lucy. While I was able to find an episode of Lucy and bon-bons thru google it did not contain the "sitting around eating bon-bons" line. I am wondering if it was from a movie of approximately that same vintage. For some reason I picture the line being delivered by someone in a room in which there is a grand piano. Maybe Bette Davis? Anyone know?
