Before I begin, I have to describe my racquet history. Several years ago, my coach introduced me to the nCode line, so I selected the nBlade 98, a frame of which I only have fond memories. Then, the kFactor version came out, and I immediately grabbed the tour. My coaches joked around saying I didn't choose the racquet, the racquet chose me, because the racquet literally felt like an extension of my arm. Recently, my HS coach has been prompting me to upgrade to a bigger, more powerful frame. I bought a Youtek Prestige MP.

First shot I hit...something felt wrong. It had so little power. My puny 93 sq inch 18x20 had more pop and felt tons better.

I really want to like the Prestige, I really do. I'm stringing it at 57 with BHBlack 7 16 gauge, and crosses at 54 with OGSM 16. I need to make this thing heavier. What can I do (leadtape-wise) to increase the 'heft' of the frame to feel more like a Blade tour?

Thanks.

Precisely.

The Prestige MP needs a bit more weight in the head. The last couple of versions were very wimpy in terms of power. You may want to try adding few grams up at the tip and see how you like it.

Are you referring to the new, just released IG version, or the prior version of the Prestige MP? I believe the IG version is supposed to have a bit more power. Might also try adding gut to your strings, maybe hybrid with a poly or multi.

TW assesses it with less power, and it has a far lower sw on average.

Sorry for the confusion, it's the non-IG model. How many grams of lead (at 12?) would fix the lack of swingweight?

You can start with 2 or 3 grams at the tip and go from there. If you think it needs more lead, than just put an extra strip of lead on to it.

I put 4g of lead at 10 and 2 on my Youtek Prestige MP and that helped quit a bit. Between that and a heat shrink grip sleeve from TW its up to about 12.4 oz strung static weight.

The great thing about lead at 12 is that you can add/remove to your hearts desire. Once you settle on your preferred spec, you can hide that junk under the bumperguard. Of course, with a Prestige, you can hide nearly everything under the bumperguard.

Part of the problem with the MP is that the throat is pretty flexy and this robs it of power. I've always found the Mid to hit a bigger ball than the MP.

I sometimes play with the Youtek Prestige MP. Found that 2 g at 12 and a leather grip (for me Head Leather Tour) work wonders.
