I have recently purchased 2 blx six one 95's (black and red) and found one plays great and the other not so much. I noticed one swung much easier and seemed to be missing some mass compared to the other. I popped open the trapdoor on the butt cap and found that one I liked had foam in the handle and the one I didn't was hollow. I also weighed the racquets and the one without foam is only 2-3 grams lighter than the other. So I have 2 questions:

1. If you own a six one 95, is the handle filled with foam?
2. Can a few grams really make a frame feel so different than another of the same model?

1. Yes
2. Yes.

Though it's not necessarily the weight as such but the way the weight is distributed throughout the frame and where its distributed that makes the difference.

I had two 6.1s, one 353g and one 350g. The 353g one plays beautifully, as light as a feather. The 350g one felt like a tree log (I ended up selling it in the end).

The 6.1s are hugely sensitive to minor weight changes in the hoop. Even adding 1g to the upper half of the hoop will change the way it swings noticebaly.

I'd suggest you check the balance and swingweight as well as trying to get a sense of where the mass is distributed through the frame eg. tip, throat, handle etc. Obviously some things you can adjust (adding lead, changing grips, trimming the bumperguard etc), some things you can't (too much weight in the lower hoop / throat etc)

I've already posted about this a few times. I also have two, one weighs 355g and the other 357g (1.25mm poly, 2 overgrips instead of grip) and the lighter one feels heavier, the balance must be slightly off but I really feel it.

Thanks for the replies so far. I have submitted a customer service request to Wilson to see if they will cover the racquet under the 1 year warranty as a manufacturing defect since the foam is not in the handle. Hopefully I will get some good news. It's a shame the QC is not good on these frames since the good ones play amazingly well.

One racket doesn't have foam inside it, because it's FAKE!!!! Why would Wilson warranty a racket they didn't make?

I would be worried about it being a fake but was purchased new from an authorized dealer and all the factory markings match up on both racquets.

That is really odd that there is no foam in one.
I have 2 and both weigh the same but have different SWs.

One is 12.5 with Og and dampener.8 pts HL, SW around 322
The other is 12.5 9.5 pts hl and Sw is around 330.

After a good amount of trial and error with lead placement I found that is seems to be missing the mass in the throat. After adding 2 grams to the inside of the throat and taking a few swings it feels closer to the other frame. I am going to try taking it out for a hit to feel the result. I am still waiting to hear back from Wilson regarding the warranty as well. It does seem like foam may have been injected but did not expand or shriveled up.

Or maybe someone bought an authentic racket from a dealer then returned a fake racket.

Possible, but everything else seems to match up too well. The pallet construction and markings is too spot on to be fake from pictures I have seen. I am thinking the foam didn't expand correctly as there is some grey material in the hairpin. If it is a fake it is pretty high quality. I am feeling pretty good about the lead placement and I'm hoping it will help get the feel closer to my other frame. I am just waiting to take it out for a test today or tomorrow.
