What do you think of the app raquet tune for the Iphone that measures string tension. I was just playing around with it and curious how accurate it is. For $2 it is pretty fun. Curious to try a freshly strung racket. I just tested two rackets that were strung with a multi two weeks ago at 57lbs (crank machine) and they recorded at 44lbs. Just curious what other people think of it

I use it quite a bit and find it to be an excellent tool.

I have been playing around with it and getting pretty diffrent readings depending on volume and what I hit the strings with. I tried a screwdriver handle spoon pen etc. For the multis do you set volume around 478 or are those just examples of sounds? What works best for you

It is most useful for measuring relative tension loss versus absolute tension unless you are going to calculate the factors on a per string basis versus using the default string gauge factors.

Use it for tension. Good tool.

Very good tool. Just be sure to get the string and racquet data input correctly.

If you string for others you will want to get something else. Racquet tune does not work with racquets that have strung on dampeners these are the ones you put on while stringing

I like it, but as Mikeler said, it's best for relative tension. It has a history function that allows you to save multiple racquets and make a note when it is freshly strung along with the reference tension. Subsequent tests of tension will tell you % loss from fresh.
