hi guys.. i just realised that after a couple of years that hardly any current weapon are par upto the classics (my 2 cents anyway).. so i want to just start a thread about the 4 classics that in my opinion are the 4 best sticks available in the modern stick era.. which is your favourite out of all the 4 racquets? and what are your reasons?

if none of the 4 is your favourite what is exactly your favourite? pls do contribute to this thread and state your reason?

MW200
PS6.0 (just because is the least playable and im not really "in to" wilson racquets)

MW200 was butta when I tried it. Add SRD Tour 90 and Vacuum Pro 90 to that list.

POG OS. I'm going to have one made into a clock.

That's a fascinating idea.

Please make sure to post a pic when you've got it made.

I played with the PC600 for about 4 years. It's a gorgeous racquet. The swingweight felt just right for me. I didn't have to add any lead to it. It seemed to do everything well. I had a lot of confidence in my groundstrokes, and my serves came in with good pace and placement. Considering how dense the string pattern is, I never had a problem generating good topspin with it.

3) Prince POG Mid

Racket I wish i had back, Prince Response 90. The Purple/Maroon colored one with the tapered flexible throat. I really loved that racket. Still have the one that cracked on me.

FWIW - there are three on e-bay as of this post for ~$50....

Yesterday I got my least favorite version of one of my favorite frame (if that makes sense)...... for $15.

An "italic font" Wilson PS85.

The plastic on the top is worn through, but the frame is still good. Nothing a little tape can't cover up. Now I've got a nice beater to swing around for fun.

The classics thread on the forum is all about this.

Of the ones you listed, I'd take the Dunlop first, the ProStaff, then the Prestige and finally the POG.

Of course I'd take the Rossi F200 and the Dunlop Max200G/300i over any of those, and the Head Graphite Pro or Elite Pro over the Prestige.

There are a lot of fantastic rackets that were made when companies concentrated on making great products that changed every 2-4 years rather than the current state where a lot of companies introduce something new every year with one version of magic dust or another.

There are a lot of good things that have happened to composites over the last couple decades, but a number of those aren't applicable to building a great tennis racket and the ones that are the industry seems to ignore, choosing instead to focus on random additives that have virtually no effect on racket performance. (Because everyone needs aerogel/innegra/chopped up basalt (BLX)/cellulose encapsulated nano-tubes in their racket?)

So I play with the old stuff too...
