...we know you like leather grips. This is settled. Can we stop mentioning them, or a lack thereof, in racquet reviews? Thanks.

Sincerely,
stormholloway

Dear stormholloway...

...we know you don't like Granville mentioning leather grips. This is settled. Can you just disregard the leather grip part, or lack thereof, when reading racquet reviews? Thanks.

Sincerely,
Funbun

Sorry I was bored. =)

i would actually prefer he mentioned his preference for leather grips 3 or 4 times in a review. and also maybe a few more medical instrument-related racquet metaphors. all while wearing a bunny suit

but seriously, who cares? i'm sure there are a lot of first time review viewers who maybe aren't as TW-playtester-savvy as the rest of us. it's nice to know the playtesters little particularities.

Dear Funbun,

It has been made known to us: You disapprove of stormholloway for speaking up critically against what may or not be useless about Granville's reviews. Personally, I have never seen a remark signed by Granville around here, and so, there is very little chance of him being offended, as he does not appear to be one of the regulars. You seem offended, however, by OPs remarks. I am too. But you seem also to lower yourself down, on a rope, into the snake pit with him by calling for censorship on grounds of your good taste having been offended. Na, just kidding to both of you; I should have drank less beer.

I kind of like the bunny suit idea.

Granville can bring up leather grips a million times and still be a BOSS.

what i wished the play testers would not say when asked what they did not like about the racquet is when they respond "nothing".

no racquet is perfect.

Just because a racquet isn't "perfect" doesn't mean there has to be a dislike. In my view, anything subjective can't lend itself to perfection. Only something mathematically quantifiable can be perfect. You can bowl a perfect game, for instance, but you can't really make perfect art, on the other hand.

If he didn't mention leather, all he would say is "butter", "extension of arm" and "scalpel". If he didn't mention any of these four things, his reviews would consist of him smiling at the camera spinning the racket in his hands :)

Granville loves leather as much as Tory loves high swing weight.

"It didn't have as high of a swing weight as I'm accustom to with my K Blade 98." - Troy

Granville kinda looks like a greyer middle-aged version of actor Alan Ruck, the lanky guy who played Ferris Bueller's best friend who wore the Detroit Redwings jersey. I say "kind of" looks like.

Meanwhile, I think TW's Spencer has a lock on use of the term "wheelhouse" (whatever the heck that is)

Ferris: Look, it's real simple. Whatever mileage we put on, we'll take off.
Cameron: How?
Ferris: We'll drive home backwards

Yes!!! You guys are right on with that observation. He was also on the sitcom spin city.

...and who can forget the scene with Charlie Sheen at the Police Station....

Boy in Police Station: Drugs?
Jeannie: Thank you, no. I'm straight.
Boy in Police Station: I meant, are you in here for drugs?
Jeannie: Why are you here?
Boy in Police Station: Drugs.

......... poetic foreshadowing.

Come to think of it, Granville could also pass for one of the Baldwin brothers (acting family). Lazy to post pics but I'm sure you all get the idea. Hope Gran's having a right old LOL

I'm sure Granville would hop on the forum and chat with us about racquets... if they made computers entirely out of leather that is.

he ( Allan Ruck, not Granville ) was 30 when he made Ferris Bueller

Speaking of Granville, he makes volleying look so easy, and yes, every player
has their trademark words, scalpel, Jason likes to say maneuverable, Spencer right up your alley,
wheelhouse, Chris loves the maaas of the racket =), Troy, ammmmm.. .
I don't mind , actually I think I like it, as long as they donīt
start saying "for sure" , like 90% of pros on interviews.
