I demoed the New Pure Drive with Factory strings and liked the racquet. However when I bought it i strung it with Vokl Cyclone 1.20mm at 54 lbs and could not play with it at all. My forehands were out of control and flying out regularly. I had no control.
Slice was good.
I have a set Signum Firestorm 1.25. im hoping that will go better but im just playing a guessing game. I know strings are individual in terms of preference but the pure drive just felt aweful with cyclone.
Im thinking shall I put in firestorm 1.25mm, hurricane tour 17g or Solinco Tour Bite 1.25 or 1.20 for my next test.
I just want a string which I can go back to playing and controlling my forehand.

what tensions ?
im assuming tour bite mains
Hmm, hopefully I won't have the same issues. Demoed it today with standard strings and bought it. Having Xcel put in at 58lbs, just hope I get the same feel I got today, the first time I ever bought a racquet after 20 minutes of playing. Simply felt incredible.

I think stringing vokl cyclone at 53lbs was a bit low considering its 1.20mm. my fault
ill try signum firestorm 1.25 at 58lbs

The factory strings are what? Xcel 16?
For a powerful, open patterned, larger headed stick like that, I'd suggest trying a more control orientated string in a 16 gauge. Cyclone 1.20 would be a bit too thin in my view.
Try something like Silversting 1.25 (deader feeling) or SPPP, in the mid 50s or Scorpion 1.28 in the high 50s. A natural gut 16 / poly 16/17 hybrid in the high/mid 50s would probably also work. I've no experience of Firestorm but the gauge and tension you suggested sounds reasonable.

i have a feeling RPM blast and Xcel power would make a good combo
Can you let me know how you get on
So far, so good. Got the racquet today and played a bit with it, with family (beginners) and it felt as good as Saturday. Had a dampener in it but took it out immediately.
Real first test for it will be Wednesday.

I had good results with a hybrid of signum tornado mains cross with gosen ogsm
both 17g both at 62/62. still had alot of power while still having good control. worked best for me
Played an hour of 3.5 doubles and an hour of 3.5 singles with it now, and it feels great. Couldn't hit a backhand to save my life, so that's probably the racquet's fault :)
No complaints about the Xcel strings, they work well.

B5E/N.Vy sounds good
Probably my last update in this thread anyway, but after two weeks now, it plays quite well. This racquet is nothing if not a spin machine. String and tension are doing well for me, haven't had to adjust strings yet.

Any suggestions on best string setup for this new racket ? and what about hybrid setup ? RPM blast hurts my arm. BB string also hurts my arm with this racket.

Don't use full poly then???
Or learn to hit the sweet spot more often.

Polys strung below 50lbs felt great but I recomend to restring every 15-20hrs because they do go dead but feel soft so it is hard to gauge it.

The one I hit with was strung with RPM Team (supposed to be softer than Blast) and felt amazing with great control.

I always used a full set of alupower rough on the old model, but Blast at 55 on the 2012 seems a whole lot better. Seems more accurate - lobs landing just inside the line, dropshots surprisingly good.
Still not quite happy with acute angle passes off the BH.
I think I am going to go up in 2s for a while yet. When it feels like it is strung in full kevlar I will know it is time to stop.
